Before I begin my introduction, I would like to thank everyone in this forum for the great community they've been helping to create.

I've been using the Nexus for over a year now as one of the sources of information for obtaining knowledge, because I believe knowledge is power.

I'm currently a student (residing in middle Europe), who tries to encourage responsible psychoactive use among his peers, who are already users of said substances, because I believe that it is the only way to minimize the risks that will always be present. (and I appeal to the moderators not to block me just because of being a student, because I'm far from being immature)

I, myself, have some very limited experience with Salvia Divinorum and a few other psychoactive, non mainstream substances, but nothing really in-depth, thought I have a real interest in the plant named Coleus, which I would like to explore and study further, in scientific and non-scientific ways.

I have not come to this forum to get information and help on ingesting DMT, because I know that I am not ready for such experience and still have many years until I will be.
No, I come to this forum to gain the information so I can use it when I will be ready, even with the possibility that it might never happen.

I have the passion for exploring and learning new things, and I would like to share the knowledge that I have acquired when researching psychoactive plants and chemicals, learn new things, and maybe get some support in trying to help people outside the nexus to see psychoactives as a tool for self-exploration and realization and just a "way to get high".

This community is unique on the internet and I would like to be a part of the amazing people that help create it for the use of themselves and others.

STS is a community for people interested in growing, preserving and researching botanical species, particularly those with remarkable therapeutic and/or psychoactive properties.

Welcome to the nexus SolScut! I hope that we are able to provide you with the knowledge that you seek. If I may ask, what exactly is your curiosity with the Coleus plan? Other than it being your avatar. I google it and was not able to find too much information. Are you planing on extracting the alkaloids I'm interested to know what you would do with it?

Thanks everyone for the great responses.

The thing that fascinates me is the lack of information about it, which means that there is so much to explore. I would like to try to do an extraction, when I have the suitable amount of plant material.

My plan is to dissolve it in ethyl acetate (possibly some other solvent) and apply the Dragendorff reagent to it, to determine if alkaloids are present.
If the reagent shows negative results, I want to devise a method for testing if terpens are present and test that.

My other plan is to test if it is at all psychoactive, which it might or might not be.

EDIT: I managed to discover a paper about compounds contained in Coleus from 2001, which seemed to go unnoticed on the internet, which renders my diterpens test obsolete, though I might still do the alkaloid, just to be sure. http://cpb.pharm.or.jp/cpb/200107/c07_0927.pdf
