I originally posted this in the wrong forum on March 3rd. Needless to say no ever responded...And now that I moved and have settled in, I wanted to repost.
Salutations Members, lurkers, trolls and remote viewers. Let us not forget the Elves themselves.
I've been reading these forums for a long time, and with much regret, wasn't really documenting much of my own experiences along the way.
I feel like anytime I have had a break thru session, I would end up here finding similar experiences by other members.
As for me, I have a long history in mind exploration, coming out of the early 90's festival scene. Both Phish Shows and early Acid House raves were some of the venues my first experiences came out of. From dreadlocks to glow sticks, much of those days were limited to Mushrooms, LSD, Ketamine, Mescaline & MDMA.
After a break from the social scenes and counter cultures, I went into the corporate word. Hiding my inhibitions to expand my mind in more challenging ways. It was a long period of Nihilism, and non belief in any esoteric forms of spirituality.
That wouldn't last long. As the spiritual technologies began to approach some speculative form of critical mass, I was introduced to Shulgins newer exploits, Burning Man culture and thus, Dimethyl Tryptamine. And not long after, Ayahuasca.
My first experiences brought back my ability to draw, a new found sense of self spirituality, as well as great reverence for many forms of historic spiritualities and religions, regardless of the distractions and ignorance that seem to cloud its numerous agendas at present.
I began reading literature from the past spanning ancient sects, indigenous societies and shamanic lineages. I started digging as deep as possible, as most of you seem to be doing as well. Carlos Castaneda, Terrance McKenna, Rick Strassman, Patrick Lundborg, Alex Grey. You name it, and my bookcase or iPad probably has it.....
Closing up, a recent Ego Death experience at a serious cross roads in my life, left me wondering why I haven't began to share more of these powerful experiences in a place where I can keep my anonymity and exchange ideas.
I chose Hamsa as my name not because of any religious connotation, but because I have seen it entering Hyperspace on numerous occasions. In some mysterious way, I could consider it the initial protector of our traveling spirit. The seat at which one leaves here, temporally for there....
I look forward to conversing with you all. Keep inspiring and evolving consciousness.

That is quite an interesting path that lead you here. You sound like a few other people I know who seemed to go from rave to the corporate world and are now rediscovering spirituality via entheogens. Just curious what are your thoughts on pros vs cons of pure dmt vs aya? Or simply which do you like better and why? I ask this because I have quite a bit of MHRB and caapi and just can't decide what to do with it.

Hello hamsa, Welcome to the Nexus, . I really enjoyed reading that introduction essay. Thank you for taking the time to write, edit and submit it. I believe your introduction accomplished what we hope for - gave me a beginning of a sense of who you might be. And I suspect you will get along just fine here. I'm going to go ahead and cast a Yes vote for Promotion for hamsa. I think others should too, or at least give it your consideration. Again, welcome to the Nexus. I ask this because I have quite a bit of MHRB and caapi and just can't decide what to do with it. Thanks for responding Adam. Each has their pros and cons. Aya teaches you subtlety. It has its purging drawbacks, but as most concur, it's a part of the process. Subsequent experiences can become a bit more stern. But it's all in good spirit. She wants you to learn. Pure is therapeutic, but quick, and it can have its drawbacks as far as what you can take out of it. It doesn't always translate so easy....."Sorry! We are broken right now!!!!!"..... But don't get me wrong, some of ones most powerful experiences occurred on pure. But it is hard on the throat. And tastes like moth balls unless someone serious made it. After Ones' several dozen experiences with it alone, it was time for one to take it with things such as Syrian Rue and Harmaline/Harmala. This only brought One closer to Aya. It was then that one decided to do Pharma. Drinking Caapi tea, waiting 60-90 minutes, and One putting some pure in lime juice did the trick. It's a great way to get used to MAOI's without the purge. It is suggested that One follow the dietary restrictions. At the end of the day. If One is scared of the purge. One does Pharma. It's a controllable dose. But once One enters Aya, it's truly difficult to go back to a recreational blast off. One really wants to work in reality after the big journeys, and take large gaps in between each experience. Good Luck!!

Absolutely! Though I am very fond of referring to the classic by Arthur C. Clarke in saying it is time for Childhood's End (for our species). "I have so much unlearning to do." Hope you can find a home here like many of us have. "Think more than you speak" "How do you get rid of the pain of having pain in the first place? You get rid of expectations" "You are everything that is. Open yourself to the love and understanding that is available." "To see God, you have to have met the Devil." "When you know how to listen, everyone becomes a guru." " One time, I didn't do anything, and it was so empty... Almost as if I wasn't doing anything. Then I wrote about it. It was fulfilling."

Well brother, it seems you have already been promoted before I even got here, but I would have given you a thumbs up as well. I never went corporate, but I was around Phish shows from early in the day, and raves from back when they were novel. It is quite possible that we may even have met on the long strange trip... or at a Burning Man or whatever. Anyway, happy to see that you made it. You seem like a perfect fit to our little community. Ham Sa or So Ham is a breathwork meditation mantra I use from time to time. It means "I am That" in Sanskrit. All the best amigo. Aloha. "Curiouser and curiouser..." ~ Alice
"Do not believe in anything simply because you have heard it. Do not believe in anything simply because it is spoken and rumored by many. Do not believe in anything simply because it is found written in your religious books. Do not believe in anything merely on the authority of your teachers and elders. Do not believe in traditions because they have been handed down for many generations. But after observation and analysis, when you find that anything agrees with reason and is conducive to the good and benefit of one and all, then accept it and live up to it." ~ Buddha
