I did a search on the forum, but couldn't find if this had been mentioned yet. http://www.ayahuascastandard.org/"Our proposed goals with this initiative are two-fold:
1) to develop consensus on good social and environmental practices for safe and sustainable Ayahuasca production and use;
2) to promote credible and transparent mechanisms that recognize and differentiate these good practices.
This particular initiative to develop credible safety and sustainability criteria and mechanisms to assure those claims began after wide-ranging discussions with leading Ayahuasca community members who attended the Psychedelic Science conference in Oakland in April 2013."
This Ayahuasca sustainability standard initiative is in its pre-launch scoping phase. We are gathering feedback from any concerned stakeholders about overall goals, content scope, governance mechanisms, standard setting process, and mechanisms for assessing the sustainability of eventual participating entities, which could include groups like Ayahuasca growers, lodges, tour operators, villages, or ayahuasqueros, etc. We’re not sure yet because we still need to ask and gain consensus all of the key stakeholders who could be affected by this process. This website serves as the current hub of communication around the standard. "There is an interesting conversation about this happening on this facebook group ; Ecology, Cosmos and ConsciousnessThoughts, Advantages ,disadvantages on 'governance' ?
