OK, my hawaiian chacruna (10) finally showed up. Does anyone have any experience with this particular chacruna? I know folks here have had a lot of dissapointing results with chacruna, but I've also read elsewhere that the hawaiian is quite active. Anyhow, I would like to give it a chance, meanwhile I have MHRB waitng in the wings as a backup plan. Also how long should I cook the chacruna and how many grams should I dose?

I have about 140g of Caapi brew left in the fridge. I had drank about 90g on my first caapi only brew and the effects seemed to be on the lighter side. I know I'm a bit of a hardhead but I also think the vine was very young and on the weaker side, although I still felt pretty wiped out and listless for 2 days after. So, should I keep the caapi amount the same when I add the light or take more?

I know it's pretty much impossible to gauge these things for each individual but I would still like to hear what your own insight has been, especially for anyone that has used or heard anything about this particular chacruna. Thanks in advance for your help and knowledge.

Chacruna is extremely variable, unfortunately.

My advice would be to cook them separately, and drink enough Caapi to experience sufficient effects from harmalas alone (feeling drunk/cold/sleepy/thoughts splitting/visions/tremors/etc.). An optimal dose of Caapi requires comparatively little DMT. And, this way, you will be able to discern what precisely is going on with the admixture if you have your bases covered with the Caapi (instead of having to wonder, "Did I drink enough vine? Did I drink enough chacruna? What's going on? Which is doing what? Which should I increase?"Pleased.

I've read a lot about 1:1 Caapi:Chacruna. Hawaiian is rumored to be more potent, I have no idea, but it may be prudent to start with 2:1 Caapi:Chacruna, especially if you are taking a full Caapi dose and not just enough for inhibition. The only active batch of Chacruna I ever had (that one was from Maya, so I would wager your herbs are good) felt best at about 5:4 Caapi:Chacruna.

If you cook them separately, you can always start low and drink more. If you cook them together and drink too much, not even vomiting can help you. Pleased

Take care... and enjoy! <3 The only time I ever had a verbal discussion with plants was when I drank Chacruna. They admitted me into their worldwide network of protection and communication. Pleased

Now I'm going to answer my own question. This chacruna is unbelievably potent. I drank last night and did something very foolish. I drank 70g of caapi and 12g of chacruna. after just over an hour and not much happening, I drank that much again. I got impatient and that was a big mistake. The vine was fine but the chacruna took me to the other side of the universe. Way more light than I needed. I think 10g would have been good.I drank 24. I tripped HARD for a solid 6 hrs. I was so exhausted 4 or 5 hrs in, it was all I could do to hang on.

On the other hand it was the most incredible thing I've ever experienced. Mama Aya took me deep within my self and showed me the green core of the earth with a warm glowing hearth at the center. The place where all life is nurtured and every act is sacred. So primal and tribal, I felt like it brought the Amazon to me. I don't think I'll ever be the same after drinking this amazing Earth Medicine. There is still so much I have to sort out. She gave me so much more than I even asked for.
Just be careful of that Hawaiian chacruna. I would say no more than 12g.
Peace all

Thanks for that!

I've also got some Hawaiian chacruna that I'm going to try soon, but was a bit unsure how to proceed with it.

Oh yeah, It tore me up pretty good! and I spent way too much time in the bathroom. Last night I finished off the last of my original batch and it wasn't enough to get strong effects but it was quite pleasant in a mild sort of way. The nice thing was, I had very little nausea with the lighter dose. Next batch I'm going to try the egg white tannin binding on the caapi brew and I would also like to try it on the chacruna because man, thats some bitter stuff, although I'm not sure if the bitterness is due to tannins. It's been hard to find much information in that regard. I think that not many folks that do home brewing use chacruna so much, but I'm pretty impressed by it.

Anyhow, what I have found is that as a novice it takes a few times to find the "sweet spot" with ayahuasca dosages. Thats why it's important to brew up enough that that you can have several goes at it. It's unfortunate when I hear of folks cooking up 50 or 100g and getting poor results and then it's all back to the drawing board, or worse yet, they give up and move on. It really is some beautiful medicine if you are persistent. Better go pound some more vineWink
Peace

Old thread. New to aya. Just saying thanks for this thread. I made my descision about this strain! ;] couldn't find much else on this (10) strain.

How did it work for you, DeDao? Have you tried it yet? I've had some Hawaiian sitting in my freezer for months, waiting for the right time to try it.

I drank about 60 grams of Peruvian chacruna a few weeks ago and had a good, but fairly mild trip. I'm thinking I'll give 10 grams of my Hawaiian chacruna a try, and see how it compares.

I did try it. I know this post is old but I will answer for completion's sake.

I usually boil about 15-20grams of hawaiian chacruna.
I will usually start with maoi alone then 30mins dose maoi again + 5grams of chacruna.
I will drink another 5grams later if I feel. At ten I am close to being fully enveloped.

This variety of chacruna is strong. I repeat, strong.

Yes, I agree it is quite strong!

I forgot I posted to this thread! I did try about 8 grams of Hawaiian Chacruna, and it was comparable to the 60 grams of Peruvian leaf. I think for myself, the 16 grams of brew I have in the freezer should be just about right. For some reason, I think I need a bit more when I take DMT orally. I really liked the vibe I got from this type of Chacruna, though.
