Hi there guys! It has been a while since I've posted here and a lot has changed, not that it matters much being a member with so few posts I suppose - REGARDLESS onwards haha; to put it as simply as possible, I will very soon have the opportunity to be able to try DMT however doing so would come fully as an action of my own will, the common phrase of 'letting it find me' would be completely voided. this makes me wonder if it is the right thing to do...
I should add a little background - I am a fairly independent and wilful person anyway and live in a very secluded area with far less contact with people, especially the kind I would like to fill my life with, than I would truly like. I have not tried DMT yet but have a fairly broad range and depth of experiences with drugs including psychedelics, dissociatives and even a few deliriants. I am fairly well read on the subject of DMT, and thus am very aware such reading will prepare me little; I write this merely to avoid going over basic knowledge again. I find spirituality something very important in my life but have my own personal beliefs that I have garnered through all the different experiences of my life, and have found that certain drugs for me already carry weight and importance in a spiritual manner.

Well if you made it this far guys, congrats! you made it hahaha, any advice is appreciated and though I'm pretty sure in a way I can't help I'm going to be looking for answers I want to hear, I also know truth and wisdom when it smacks me in the jaw.

Letting DMT come to you doesn't always mean that it will just be handed to you out of the blue (although this had happened to me a few times!). It means recognizing that the time is right, the path to actually being able to try it becomes doable, things line up. Part of it is that it will be on your mind, for whatever reason.. That's a big part of how it happens the first time for a lot of people.

Your past experiences with other psychedelics should prepare you at least in some small part for what you'll experience. But only in part. Good luck!

Yeah, DMT can come to you in different ways. For me it was realizing that it is a possible effective migraine abort in small doses.

It's not necessarily a serendipitous falling of it into your lap, though that happens for some.

Thank you guys, I feel like it is the right time and stuff for me to go out into the wonderful land of hyperspace but I didn't want to jynx it from the start Smile I still worry a little about the come up as I normally have some issues there but I feel I have ingrained it enough in my instincts to just go with a trip, no matter how hard it hits me, rather than resisting it. I know the come up is only a minute or two as well, but I know how time perception gets haha...

I was looking for years & years, I chased after it when I got any slight hint it may be around & then 1 day it just came to me.

It's like it knows, the more I do of ethnopharmacological things the more I am sure they have some sort of "wisdom" we don't understand & they come to us.
Kind of like leading a trail of bread crumbs untill you go through the forest & come upon a great huge house full of life changing things. A psychedelic Hansel & Gretel tale in a way but without the Witch burning at the end.
You better take care of me Lord, if you don't you're gonna have me on your hands.

In my personal experience you will know once you have acquired it.
It may be hours, days, even weeks before you take it, but you will sense a clarity, an inner calm.
This is when you are 'ready' for a taste.

Start small. Very small.
Aim for the Chrysanthemum Pattern.
When you feel at peace in this zone, in my opinion, you are truly ready.

yeah i tend to agree with Guyomech's comment.. DMT can find you in a multitude of ways and it doesn't necessarily have to mean it physically making its way to you without a hint of your own initiative. In fact it could just as well be the other way around...

I was drawn to DMT when I started thinking about my life and the nature of reality through a different and more open scope..it found me in the sense that once I started contemplating these things, I was drawn to the tools that would ultimately help me in exploring them - and I proceeded to seek those tools out. you could say that DMT found me simply by me becoming aware of its existence and power

It found me at a point of me being a little lost. I visited some old friends I was missing and I learned a little about it and was told to do my own research. I was concerned at first with me having anxiety disorder, but after a little bit of research and calming my thoughts on the subject I visited a friend who helped me feel even more comfortable in his peacefull home and I experienced a low dose of white chrystal DMT extracted from MHRB and extraction used. pickle lime instead of lye which was what I read mostly. I also felt more comortable with the knowledge of that extraction technique. It sounded safer and more natural.
I cleared an are to lie down and that was that.
What I experienced I wont try to explain, but the feelings of my body then and after, I havent felt this good in a long time. Whether I am right or wrong, I believe my min has not been filled with more, but opened to see what was already there.
I am still reading and researching many different question and answers and I dont know how much better things may get, but my time I believe was perfect.
The right environment and good people make a difference, most of all state of mind. Everybody has different ways to reach the right or comfortable state of mind, so others may not be like me, but when it does you will know or feel it.
It is different from thinking and knowing, but if you think, then I believe you are close. Whether research, environment,or just a change in the way you feel at the moment, you can find the the time.
I feel almost like I have rambled a bit, but good luck in your travels and all good future to you.
Good luck and as always Happy Travels

Thanks again to all those posting in this thread, it has helped me confirm that my instinctive belief in what I was planning to do is (most likely) going to be the right choice for me. For a long time knowing about this awesome substance I have felt uneasy about going to try it but my fear has somewhat left me now and I think it is soon going to be time. Peace

DMT found me by means of ayahuasca about 10 years ago. I did not search for it. But 3 years prior I was mentaly open and curious of using entheogens for learning / healing. Sincronicity? Law of atraction? Maybe..

Now I have never smoked it so I cant say much about that. But I can understand your hesitation about the speed of the take off. To go into hyperspace in a couple of minute could give a little inter dimensional vertigo to say the least... Smile

With the right setting, oral could be a good alternative. At least the come up is much slower. On the other hand the experience will be very long. But in my experience this time is beneficial for spriritual seaking / healing.

Now if a spiritual experience is what you are serarching for, I can certainly recommend ayahuasca. But of course,as which any entheogen, its very important to inform yourslef well about what you are signing up to.

I wish you the best of journeys! Smile
