This may belong in a different area although this is the one I have access to.

According to this site for medical botany http://www.ars-grin.gov/duke/syllabus/module2.htm
this is the phytochemical page, scrolling down there are two entries for tannin, one being for the plants containing and the other for properties of.

This explains why Mimosa Hostilis shows activity without adding an MAO inhibitor, though in my experience it is not the same as when one does use an MAO-I/RIMA.

Have people already reached this conclusion or am I reinventing the wheel again?

Thanks for sharing!

But how would that explain why only cold water extraction of mimosa works without a MAOI, if tannins also come across with heated extraction? I think yuremamine is a way more probable answer because it breaks down with heat and has a betacarboline-like structure inside of it.

btw, you mispelled MAO-I in the thread title, you can edit the first post to change it Smile

I know this is the wrong thread for this, but I wanted Key Omen and Endlessness to see this.

I know I'm not a moderator but I feel like I played a part in getting Key Omen demoted in the "What is life about" thread awhile ago.

I just wanted to publicly apologize to you Key Omen (then Enki Nemo) for suggesting your demotion and I hope that the moderators will consider giving you back your full member status. Wires got crossed and you've suffered being confined to the nursery far too long because of it. I'm sorry man.

could it be a combination of them?
where the MAO properties of the tannins are facilitated by the yuremamine?
or probably not..

And/or 2-MTHBC, which has also been found in significant quantities in several orally-active acacia species.

simply finding something is a "MAOI" does not really mean much. Dandelion is probly an maoi, onions contain maoi's..so does chammomile tea..tons of things like flavanoids are maoi's..this does not mean that they are going to be potent inhibators of MAO-A and will activate DMT.
Long live the unwoke.
