Well the title says it all really, I can't post this in Open Discussion so I posted it here. I was just wondering what fellow beings on the Nexus thought of Operation Anonymous. Considering we are Awake and Aware I would guess. If this is not suitable for this site just let me know. I just wanted to here other like-minded beings such as yourself voice there opinion and thoughts on what their doing.

I think it WAS great. But now it has become somewhat disorganized (as far as anonymous goes anyway) and repetitive. Not seeing much promise in the idea of "anonymous" unless the game is stepped up a little.

Too many anonymous members that are bogus now.

I don't really know much about them, or where they're going, but I can say it gives me hope. I'm glad there are people out there with the skills and motivation to poke and prod and dig into "the man" and expose secrets. It's what we need if we are to live in a free society.

There are bogus ones but in my opinion the mask is the real message that makes them intimidating. The mask represents the original Hacktivists, every time is see the mask I think of the movement. The law enforcement won't even address the organization because they might be a target if the do comment on them. There are some originals out there that are making a difference but they have mad hacking skills there aren't too many hackers out there anymore the Feds have kept them down before they start.

My main contention with the anonymous collective is their very hierarchical framework is ripe for co-opting and coercion that leads to potential scapegoating.

In the early days I helped with some (extremely) fringe areas of what was going on, nothing big or clever, I just liked what it was initially about (and I happened to own the mask from way back before it all started so my monkey mind thought this was kind of cool lol)

However, unless one is part of one of the few core 'inner sanctums' that apparently exist, they are essentially painting a rather large bullseye on themselves (something they do not, or did not mention when asking others from the public arena to assist).

(avoiding getting too deep into CT talk BUT...) I'd like to think if all this gets to a specific point that masks will not be needed, as the show of force against a corrupt minority will send shockwaves through our collective society and ensure many of those in armed services and law enforcement (for example) will turn their weapons to protect their friends and families..

I live in hope.

I think most people have a completely misinformed view of what anonymous actually is, how it works, and what it stands for. I don't know much about it either, but Ari Shaffir had audio on youtube of him interviewing two anons which i thought was fascinating and really surprised me. It works way differently than i'd thought it did..although who knows how much truth there is to anything you hear Pleased

looking for the video now, it seems youtube pulled the account Ari posted it under

but its still on his site http://www.arishaffir.co...luke-harder-star_fawkes/

I highly recommend it

<Ringworm>hehehe, it's all fun and games till someone loses an "I"

Anyone sending Jeremy Hammond (and/or the other incarcerated activists) support mail? It's always good to show solidarity with those on the "front lines" actually doing stuff. Wink

Getting letters from people is something numerous inmates cite(d) as incredibly beneficial to their morale.

It's great seeing people putting their two cents in of all different points of view. I was worried that this might be considered a CT thread and I know that is to be avoided and not tolerated. I guess it is debatable weather or not it's a conspiracy. It is to some degree because of the secretiveness of the operation but in my opinion it is for their own safety from the powers that be.

great thing to be reminded of snoz. So many sing the praises when things are romantic and on the up... but rarely follow through when the going gets tough. i'll keep this in mind
