ive read a few extractions online, and came up with my own tek for extraction curcumin. so here it is.

1) cover turmeric powder with isopropyl alcohol, the higher the concentration, the better.
2) leave on a coldfinger extractor, or just leave in the cupboard for 3-5 days
3) decant off the alcohol, then filter to get rid of the rest of the powder
4) evaporate the alcohol down to about 10 ml
5) mix the alcohol with about 30ml of naptha
6) mix evenly
7) add about 100-200 ml of water slowly. curcumin should precipitate.
filter, then dry. recrystallize in more naptha. evaporate.
