Should I be concerned if my spice tastes nice? It's reminiscent of wattle flowers, which have quite favorable scent to my olfactory factory.
Does anyone find it isn't as harsh, or as 'chemical' as is reported?

waz it made from wattle? SWIM thinks it smells and tastes like lemon grass oil personally... and a bit like privet flowers... the chemical nasty plastic thing is just in peoples imaginations and lack of olfactory creativity... a silly association with the fact its a chemical... shit whats not a chemical? I always figured it tastes a lot more organic than most describe. My housemates think it smells like old cupboards.
Whatever the smell or taste, I've certainly built up a good few associations with it.

Does anyone find it isn't as harsh, or as 'chemical' as is reported? My first few times it numbed my tongue and tasted chemically almost. Now I can't even taste it and it doesn't numb my tongue.

Fantastic! Well, 'my' (foaf's) spice, is yummy! A bit of vanilla in there too. haha. Wow, heaps of olfactory imagination around here! LLB wrote:waz it made from wattle?
Honestly, i'm not certain. But on the way home, in desperate need of a toilet.. after buying a pipe for the express purpose.. serendipity lead me directly to an active tree that needed watering. Weird, hey?!

My sugar glider's first batch of Noman STB spice smelled like fresh lotus blossoms and cat tails by the swamp out in the midsouth and west country. When burned it was a sweet plastic scent. "If I have seen further, it is by standing on the shoulders of giants" - Sir Isaac Newton

SWIM's smells sweet and earthy... he imagines like a wild beesnest in the hole of a gnarled tree. It smokes smoothly. It's from jurema. He found evaporate to be harsher than freeze precip. He suspects that this 'plastic death' taste that people talk about could be from nasty chemicals still in it, but maybe alternatively as a result of having taken a RIMA/MAO-A first? Then maybe the body could even subsequently associates all further experiences with similar revulsion? This is pure speculation, based on how jurema brew tasted fine the first time, but awful after rue. Everything I write is fictional roleplay. Obviously! I drank Rue tea once (well filtered) and didn't find it bad at all except for the acidity, but that was from too much lemon juice. No nausea either. I also really love the fragrance of the seeds when smoking them. Funny how people's tastes vary! But hey, I like Laphroaig... I absolutely agree dmt smells not bad at all! Provided it's pure of course. Sometimes it even took over the smell of Palo Santo when that was in the air.
