So I am taking a course on chemistry and as I was reading my book I found something that said " the suffix -ite and -ate means the presence of oxygen " .... As I recall I remember somebody doing a 500 gram acrb extraction and ending up with ALL dmt oxide just a bunch of yellow whitish goo. I am under the impression that when using vinigar (what was used in the extraction) the dmt from the bark bonds with the acetic acid and makes dmt acetate (dmt acetate ending with -ate) .... Could this in anyway at all contribute to ending up with dmt oxide? I know that to s of other varibles come into play but Anybody that knows would be an awesome help because this person was looking into using citric acid instead of vinigar because of various reasons. Anyways thanks a bunch for reading!

from what i have heard, storing DMT in salt form (acetate, fumurate, citrate, etc) help preserve the molecule and prevent oxidization.
can anyone confirm this?
