First of all I want to say that I am very familiar to DMT, so this experience came as quite a shock to me. I had been experimenting with Ketomine and Dmt a lot this last week working on a project about music and hypnotic programming.

For the record I have only had the best most magical experiences with that combination . I do a lot of mind research and brain programming so i am very familiar in the "underworld" as i like to call it.

I had a very unhealthy day as far as lots of sugar, smoking and coffee which normally i don't do, I am actually very healthy but i was going into a heavy workload and was just being lazy and unhealthy in a temporary cycle but somehow i knew i was pushing my limits as far as the programming was going (about 30 trips in a few day). I believe i was getting careless as for the experiences were concerned because I was doing things like not cleaning my bowl and was smoking DMT on top of old DMT.

I don't know exactly what triggered this scary experience but this is how it went.

I felt it coming on very quickly normally it takes 3 or 4 hits but this one came on quickly at 2 inhales, visuals became active and then it was like instantly two powerful wires crossed and short circuited everything and instantly i knew something went wrong and It was very bad. I was left in a space where i unintentionally short circuited everything.(it was the exactly feeling i believe if you were playing with a loaded gun and accidentally short and killed someone in front of you). Everything was dead, i knew it. Nothing worked, everything was fried and broken all the other entities were all shaking their heads angrily at me and i found myself in this world alone with the most alone feeling one could imagine. It was like all life was gone, no energy just pure emptiness.

The non human things that were half alive were all blaming me. Humans were gone, everyone i love disappeared and i was left in this broken empty world. All alone. I called out loud to my wife serval times but there was only silence. Nothing was there, i was seriously freaking out because this world looked exactly like where i lived except everything was friend and burned. I was saying out loud "I'm sorry, all i was trying to do was good" but it was too late, the damage was done..Somehow my carelessness caused it all..I was alone, everything was broken my computer looked broken and sad, lights were dim and barely alive and there was this low draining hum of a sound. i was consciously trying to recreate positive good thoughts to bring back my world but it was over and i knew it.

I was sitting by my desk saying out loud "I am sorry" When i had the thought maybe i just threw a breaker to the house and if i reset it everything would come to life again but when i went outside all the landscape, plants and the earth was burnt , there was no life. I saw someone or something walking down the street and called out to it but it was like a walking zombie, it didn't even hear me when i called out "hello" It just kept on walking (i don't know if there even was a person but it was on my street )....I was calling out to pure emptiness...I don't know what happened but it was like atom bomb went off and everything was burnt and dead...I went back into my room empty, feeling sad and lonely "even my dogs were gone" and the only thing i felt i could do was lay down on my burnt bed and go to sleep to dissappear, as i went to lay down even the pillow was growling at me like i fucked up. i laid down for a moment and then i opened my eyes and my wife was there. I was so thankful as my normal reality seemed to be coming back she said my face was white and my heart was beating super fast.
All i can say was that, that was the craziest scariest trip ever, it was so real to me and i have done easily over 100 trips. so my thoughts about this is are, is it because i had a super unhealthy day by smoking, sugar and coffee? Could that have ignited that effect? or maybe mixing DMT with older burnt DMT? or maybe being a little overrun lately? Any insight would be nice. I found it interesting that when i was coming back all that was going off in my head was this was your lesson for smoking cigarettes . I will still explore just to get over any residue fear but from now on i will enter the space very healthy and respectful. I will never take DMT again for granted because it kicked my ass. Scared the be-jesus out of me. Glad to be back alive with my loved ones. I know this is written sloppily but I'm still coming down.

Hey man, glad to hear you came out of it alright! Those kinds of trips really make you wanna kiss the ground and hug everyone when you manage to come back with nothing more than a bruised psyche. Me not having tried DMT yet, I can only imagine how intense it must have been. And I'm sure you're exactly right about all those factors contributing to it, as you've been there done that more than I have.

Your trip reminds me of a trip I had last summer where I had just gotten a new batch of psilacetin, and I dosed it thinking it was the same potency of my last batch...bad idea lol! It was way stronger. Anyways, I recall dosing it and afterwards getting unusually anxious about some things, and as soon as it kicked in, it was a full-on anxiety attack, my world was telling me "You dun messed up this time! The gods are smiting you, and you're gonna be the moron that makes the local news and disgraces his family because he died of a drug OD!" Seriously gave me a feeling similar to having a loaded gun pointed right at my head that could go off at any minute, I felt like I was a split-second away from being ended right then and there.

Long story short, I kept my composure to where I could turn on some songs that I knew would help, and they did immensely. It took a monumental level of willpower and determination to get my world back under control to the point where I felt safe in my own skin again, I really felt at some point like I had returned from the dead.

Of course, like any good psychonaut, I brought back quite a few personal learnings from the experience, despite how harsh it was. In fact, I would even say that this trip was 1 of the 3 world-changing trips I've had. One of the things I brought back isn't exactly person, but it is absolutely invaluable towards what we do, and that's the know-how behind helping someone conquer a bad trip, because if I can pull myself out of that trip, then I can definitely help anyone who gets to that point.

What you say here sounds very familiar to a certain kind of experience that I have gotten several times in which for one reason or another, the trip "short-circuits" as you put it, and everything falls dead. All the entities, machinery, landcape, etc...become inert, dead, lifeless. The energy that typically animates everything becomes absent. There is no sense of connection to the images before you either which can be disconcerting. Lots of times, a sudden distraction from the outside world is all you need to knock everything into that state: a dog barking, a phone ringing, a door slamming, etc...It has made me rather conscientious to avoid all such distractions. I feel like what you're describing is what I experience, however I don't find such experiences to be scary - merely disappointing, and they can leave me feeling a bit "off", but it's never really gotten scary or anything like that. I usually just frustratedly open my eyes when it becomes clear that I've reached the proverbial end of the line.

Keep in mind that Global has journeyed thousands of times, and has developed an unusual ability to view harsh experiences far more clinically than most of us are able. Certainly something to aspire to.

There's another angle to this as well. Many ketamine users have found that when they use other substances they often seem to be getting warning messages about their K use. It's very seductive stuff and many intelligent, responsible psychonauts have found themselves sucked into unhealthy habits with it. Sometimes a harsh trip is primarily there to say, Slow down, take a deep breath, evaluate your situation before proceeding any further.

You'll find that there isn't a lot of discussion of ketamine here, largely because its negative effects are well known and are far beyond the negative side effects of the more conventional psychedelics. I would recommend that you use the search feature and read some of the stories before diving any deeper into K-land. I've been there myself in the past, just enough to feel how wondrous, seductive and inviting it can be. But the strong cravings I experienced after only a few times served as enough of a warning for me. Be careful!

Thank you for the responses. I have been reflecting on it all night and am glad to have experienced it. For the first time I realized just how super powerful those visions could be (i knew they were powerful because i have had breakthroughs but never that at that level). It was strange because i remember things barely alive and i could will powerful them up for a moment then they would power back down so i could see a better world that could be born from this place however, i knew nobody would have been there from my prior life experience and everything would be new but created on a different level. This realm was definitely real as could be imagined. Good lesson and still much to reflect on.
