cyb, How are you doing these?! They are so cool! cyb wrote:Mr.P: ...that's quite luvly (have you been spending time on Pandora?) it's crying out for immersion into the colour banks of Pshop/Prisma (I really wanna see what the top cropped part looks like...just ocd like that) Hixi: That looks so familiar, can't place it...all I can think of is ... 'Bloop!' I'm planning what should be a pretty cool color scheme for this one. I may use pencils, or digital, or both together or separate. I don't know!! The problem with digital right now, is I can't practically take it with me through the day, like pencils. I may add on the top part, just because of your request.... Be an adult only when necessary.

Wow SC. That is my favorite of your works. Up close the shapes are quite simple but the complexity and the symmetry of the whole thing is astounding. Every day I am thankful that I was introduced to psychedelic drugs.

Damn, you guys! I freakin love the art here. spin, You have such a cool look to your stuff, it's so crystalline. I think it is getting more and more refined. I really like that one. PT, I really like the 3D look that one has. I also really like the broad color pallet. Again, it's so clean and just tasty. Be an adult only when necessary.

I call this collage "Bee Keeper". Men toil as mid-level robots keep a close eye. The un-naturals chum it up and act important. RayTracer attached the following image(s): The Bee Keepers.jpg (699kb) downloaded 454 time(s).I am completely convinced that there is a wealth of information built into us, with miles of intuitive knowledge tucked away in the genetic material of every one of our cells. Something akin to a library containing uncountable reference volumes, but without any obvious route of entry. And, without some means of access, there is no way to even begin to guess at the extent and quality of what is there. The psychedelic drugs allow exploration of this interior world, and insights into its nature. - Shulgin

I was hesitant to post this here because it didn't really take any artistic skills (being just a photo, copied, mirrored, rotated, with some Photoshop effects applied) however, I like the way it turned out and thought others might enjoy it too. The story behind it: We had the first real thunderstorm of the year last week and my wife and I thought it called for celebration so we shared a small dose of DMT and watched the sunset & lightning. The effects were very fairly subtle but in the dim light, the silhouettes of the trees did some amazing things. I could have sworn that they multiplied, rotated and mirrored each other. It was beautiful and magical. Afterwards I decided to try to replicate what I saw as a sort of visual trip report.... and this is is=) Cotyledon attached the following image(s): dmtrees2.jpg (4,243kb) downloaded 419 time(s).

I love the subtle shifts in color and the fine degree of detail created by the branches. Having the organic geometries of nature coming together in a kaleidoscopic way is actually a pretty cool idea. "Science without religion is lame. Religion without science is blind" - Albert Einstein
"The Mighty One appears, the horizon shines. Atum appears on the smell of his censing, the Sunshine- god has risen in the sky, the Mansion of the pyramidion is in joy and all its inmates are assembled, a voice calls out within the shrine, shouting reverberates around the Netherworld." - Egyptian Book of the Dead
"Man fears time, but time fears the Pyramids" - 9th century Arab proverb

Wow. That's super intense.
I like how real and tangible you made it. The subtle asymmetries somehow bring it to life.

Awwww how cute!! I've noticed your subtle asymmetries, too. I remember seeing something about a Japanese concept of art. I can't remember what it was called, but they recognized beauty in imperfection. So, if a building had columns, say, they would purposefully install one column upside down. It's very interesting. You can see this in nature, too. Trees, plants, animals and people all have this. Even the most "perfect" faces have some slight asymmetries. So, it's really cool you add some asymmetry to your work! It certainly makes it more dynamic. Be an adult only when necessary.

Glad you guys noticed the asymmetries ... yeah they are subtle and as you say, necessary to give a face or figure movement and 'reality'. Symmetry is fine if you're trying to convey fractal-like linear precision but for more 'organic' structures like this Alien Skin texture, it helps to have things a little 'off '...even if it barely registers at first glance. Lot of discreet additions, dodging/burning, hue changes, levelling and pushing around with Liquify and Warp.
