Nope, they do not evep away like hcl. In these cases the solvent mix (and excess acid) was decanted or filtered off leaving only pure crystals. The MEK wash gets rid of impurities in the final product. It is a must imho and SWIM thinks it works better than acetone. Thought I would share... recent extraction of 935mg m.fumarate recrystallized in acetone/IPA from 100g pedro powder nice pure white crystals.
