I keep reading this nde,

http://www.subtleenergies.com/ormus/tw/mtb-nde.htm

MTb nde

I feel it's almost like a proper dmt trip.

Just wondering, to me dmt is basically a nde,

What do others think ?

Good quality Syrian rue (Peganum harmala) for an incredible price!

I'd love to find out if that man has ever done a psychedelic drug.

That sounds pretty much just like a DMT trip if you ask me.

If your religion, faith, devotion, or self proclaimed spirituality is not directly leading to an increase in kindness, empathy, compassion and tolerance for others then you have been misled.

I'd had several experiences that could be called NDE's and or OOBE's before I tried DMT and my first DMT experience was so similar it left me in shock for a few hours afterwards.

That first DMT experience wasn't very visual and I didn't see any entities or have much of a visual experience, I just felt like I wasn't in my body.

As the experience unfolded I had an overwhelming sense of Dejavu like I'd been there before and that feeling lasted for at least an hour after I came back.

For me an NDE and a DMT experience are very similar.

I never get that dejavu feeling from mushrooms, acid or other trypatmines.

Wow... that was quite a good read! And it's amazing how similar is it to many other NDE experience reports, as so many of the themes and visions are symmetrically typical of so many reports of the journey beyond life into death. Although, it's truly an extraordinarily epic and amazing example!

And it is very similar to the enigmatic voyage on NN-DMT, as well as the very peak moments of real LSD-25 and psilocybin mushroom immersions. Wouldn't if be amazing if someone could have their brains and blood tested immediately after a NDE or OBE? There may well be DMT released in our brains when we die. Or nearly die, as in my case. Call it a nearly, near death experience?

When I was 10 years old, the summer of 1968, I drowned in our swimming pool. While my father was performing CPR on my unconscious form, I left my body and hovered 12-15 feet over the whole dramatic scene. I was left with the most curiously odd feeling... if I was watching the little boy having his chest emptied of water, which was my body... then what was I? As I had no reference to psychedelic experiences, I obviously didn't understand OBE (astral projection).

But there I was floating over my prone body and the was this immense blinding white light above me. Not exactly white, as all kinds of diamond-like fractals of colored shards, emanate out of it's effulgent radiance, some colors that I had never even seen before, and would not afterwards, until I embraced entheogens.

I knew that the Light called for me to enter it's immensity. I also knew that if I went into it... I would die to the world of my childhood, leave my family and friends and create a lot of sorrow for those I loved. I was just a kid and all I knew of non-material reality was what I learned in Sunday school, which was pretty minimal. But I somehow knew that my conscious-awareness was my soul. That I was a soul with a body and not the body, which would eventually die. It was that part of me that had be me before birth and wold be me after death. but just what that soul essence was, I didn't have a clue nor a concept of.

I wanted to got into that living presence of the Light, like nothing I had even wanted before! It felt like it was like sunshine, music, laughter, candy and Gramma's kisses! Even better, if I have to compare apples and oranges.

This was about as far as I went, though. As I decided to live, I watched the small child begin to cough an choke up mouthfuls of water. In a split second, I felt the most painful thing I have ever felt, my lungs felt like they would explode with agony. It hurt more than any infected tooth, broken bone or really bad burn. Being a child, I shook it off and spent the rest of the day and evening in bed, being doted on by my mother and grandmother.

The only one I mentioned it to was my Gramma. She was one of those fundamentalist Christians who dressed out of the 19th century. Not exactly Mennonite but very similar. She was kind and highly spiritual,so I knew she would understand. I told her that I had seen God and his face was too bright to look at directly. That I had become an angel for a few minutes and wasn't afraid of anything anymore, not even dying.

She smiled at me in the way that only a grandmother can smile at a grandchild. She then began to read from the Bible. It seemed sort of hollow and lifeless, compared ti the all-knowing, loving light. This went on for some time but I was barley paying attention to her recitation of the scripture, for I was preoccupied with the rush of having been floating i the sky, high above my ordinary existence. It seemed pretty magical to my childlike sensibilities.

Anyway, whether the chemical released instantly in the brain is the DMT molecule or not, something powerful is projecting people out of their bodies when intense trauma or NDE occur. There are no coincidences and OBE always seem to coincide with specific chemical interactions in the brain and glands. The same can possibly be said for certain chemical releases in our brains from deep meditation, sensory deprivation, fasting or even long distance running (and many other methods).

I've had very, very similar peak experiences, to the wonderful narrative above. And I've gone far deeper than my mild NDE as a child, on several psychedelics. Those OBE were far more intense, just like the beautiful account we all just read. There is rarely any dialog, as my mind is often silent. But at the very apex of the peaks, the Divine Light and Void experiences are similar in many ways. It's a such wonderful experience, who could be fearful of material death? Thumbs up

Wow some great replies here!

"There may we be DMT released in our brains when we die. Or nearly die, as in my case"

This is s absolutely most definitely what happens. It's almost like rocket fuel to eject you
Out of your body.

Wow I just wish these afterlife researchers and people who have had a nde would try DMT !

I like that he (if only briefly) highlighted that the Egyptian heaven was 'such a beautiful one' . That seems quite parallel to DMT as well.

Well you've got to admit they had some serious style!

Apparently the smarter set from Atlantis founded the Egyptian religion...

As far as I can tell they too got blinded by materialism and power eventually,,,

There has been stuff like this done using ketamine with people who had prior NDE's..and the results apparently are that ketamine reproduces the experience for most of them.

Pretty sure Karl Jansen did some research studies into it..

That was a nice story, i liked it. But i am a little confused as to whether it was a nde or full on de as he was supposed to be physically dead for 1 1/2 hours. I also don"t understand how, if his heart wasn"t pumping, his brain survived the oxygen starvation.
But it is good that the story is shared on the internet for free with his permission (but his DVDs will sting you for 24.95 Wink )

Interesting you say this. I've watched reports of people being dead for days and waking up in the morgue !

Remember there are infinite realities. Also, if god has decided you need to go back, your physical body will just be repaired and rebooted. You aren't your body.... It's just like a diving suit really.

You seen those tv shows where people with incredible injuries and doctors don't know how they even survived?
There is a lot medical science does not know yet.

I agree with that. There is so much that we don"t know, and probably never will and i like to think about possibilities. However, when someone tries to flog their spiritual views and experiences at 25 bucks a pop, i tend to glaze over.
On the other hand, you could see it as him making a living out of helping people to feel better about themselves (but there is also a strong argument for this being a personal journey).
I really can"t say for sure with this guy. I would go 60/40% in favour of him being a demi-charlatan, in that he had a spiritual near death experience but is slightly morally corrupt for trying to gain materially from it. But i don"t think he"s as bad as Uri Geller.

I still don"t think he was actually dead for one and a half hours. When your diving suit"s knackered, you can"t re-use it.

Is the guy selling the DVD/receiving the profits? I only ask because it seemed like much of the propagation of his story didn't actually have to do with him.

Well his website is this http://www.mellen-thomas.com/index.html

And, i don"t like saying this, but from the look on his picture i think he has a heavy botox bill (either that or he is good for his age). So i would imagine the sale of the dvds on the site would help him out with this. But i am speculating, and if all his dvd profits go to charity (and maybe he has a rich wife who is helping with the botox bills) then i see him as a paragon of virtue and may even buy one of the dvds in a fit of guilt. One day.

I agree completely, but the basic problem is that society sneers at both topics. Most people in the scientific community sees the study of NDEs as superfluous at best, unfortunately. And the idea of taking and/or supplying drugs, I presume, is not too popular either in academic circles. Researchers, who rely on their reputations for funding and tenure, prefer to stick to just one controversial area of study at a time, if even they go that far.
"As my soul left my body, I found myself floating in a swirling ocean of multi-colored light. At the end, I could see and feel an even brighter light pulling me toward it, and as it shined on me, I felt indescribable happiness. I remembered everything about eternity - knowing, that we had always existed, and that all of us are family. Then old friends and loved ones surrounded me, and I knew without a doubt I was home, and that I was so loved." - Christian Andréason

Dude, that blonde girl is a total DMT/10.

What evolutionary advantage could an NDE or massive release of DMT at point of death confer?

IMHO, it would confer no rational or quantifiable (by sequential analysis) advantage or disadvantage to the individual. Something more enigmatic and profound happens at the point of death. Awareness is not extinguished and this is a primary point to consider. How can individualized intelligence and one's entirety of soul-essence, cross freely beyond the illusory membrane of the transient mortal paradigm, into the expanse of the eternal dimension of self existence? Consciousness is not bound to cyclical organic cycles, it is the eternal observer of the dance.

But I am of the conviction that chemical molecules released to shift our vision and those exalted visionary states of consciousness encountered, are only part of the overall picture humanoids encounter. And are very difficult to feasibly quantify, rationally, as they are but a part of the whole. This magnificent universe is inarguably, the most impressive system one could possibly imagine with human cognition. It's a wonderful balance, eh? Big grin

I feel that that what DMT and other powerful entheogens does, is to facilitate our awareness to be freely able to shift to alternate wave-lengths and frequencies outside of the ordinary material consensus reality view and perception. If death and disembodied experiences amp this awareness, few of us will ever know. One thing is a certainty, there are so many parallels in NDE and OBE inter-phases, that there is little room for debate about the symmetry and consensus amongst those who die and return to tell the tale.

On the other hand, what is quite debatable, is whether or not the experiences of those who return are indeed valid proof, that countless individual epiphanies experienced are some cosmic truth and not some imagined hallucinations. Those who pass through this gate are left in complete awe of the journey. So, whether or not the chemical release is the direct catalyst for the perception of said alternate states of heightened awareness, is moot. The effects and the content of the subjective views experienced do have a lasting value. Is it authentic or merely imagined? I say yes, affirmative, it is wholly genuine, and it's as real or more so, than anything else in this dreamscape.

Little value comes from viewing the process through logical analysis. I must emphasize that chemical reactions exist only in the material receptors. I believe the transcendental soul consciousness is always awake and always free of temporal delusions. And this I feel, is valuable beyond measure or silly human values. It is a power that never ceases to illuminate the journey of the seeker.

At the apex of the peak experience, as I have come to see things, even this is yet another mirage woven by our sentient mind. Yet, with all the layers peeled away, there still exists the unbound mystery. One which allows no end to it's enigmatic flow and no finite description yields any fruit to define it's grandiose essence. Thumbs up
