Hi.
I just noticed a minor hiccup. My salt is ionized. I was so sure it was not, but it is...
So would it be a disaster to add it just before I add the solvent.
I get it that it will help to push alkaloids to the solvent and not help to draw them out of mhrb. With that in mind it should be ok?
In my timeline I have a gap in the basifying step to go and get some new salt.
Else I just have to delay everything and let it sit In acid bath 2h longer.

Thanks in advance!

It's fine to use...
minuscule amounts of iodine shouldn't be a problem
And profanity on the site is discouraged...

Sorry, it has been taken care of Smile
So you say I could use salt with iodine? It contains 5mg per 100g salt. Yes, It is a small amount Smile
And hypothetically would it do any different if added in the end of basifying step just before adding the solvent?

Thanks for your fast answer cyb! Thumbs up

You can add the salt whenever you like really...but it potentates the base.
It's fine to add it after the base.
Iodine may be fine for oral consumption...but if 'amounts' of it actually made it across the non polar barrier and ended up in the product...I have no idea what would happen if it were vaped...
That is why I leave it out...Thumbs up

Ok, then il prolong the acidity step a tiny bit, add base just before I go shopping, add salt when I come back. Then wait 2h before initiate solvent steps.
Thanks again for a super fast answer! Really appreciate it!

I noticed that your op says 'ionized'.
That is fine to use.
I miss read and thought you wrote 'iodized'...
(A different thing)
apologese...

A longer acid soak is also of benefit.
