Every artist has their low point benzy ^___^ After watching him paint while i was half way into lsd hyperspace, and talking with him for a while, i found him hilarious and brilliant. A really great and talented chap

I of course can't comment on his personality (he looks like a cool guy overall) , but damn, aren't Alex Grey's paintings some god-awful monstrosities... I never really understood why people like his stuff or why his paintings are famous in the psychedelic community. Need to calculate between salts and freebases? Click here! Well...everything I've seen from him was dreadful. I appreciate the unique style as well as the effort and inspiration that goes in each of his drawings, but the end-result just doesn't do it for me. But also psychedelic paintings in general is not much to my liking... Need to calculate between salts and freebases? Click here! Need to calculate freebase or salt percentage at a given pH? Infundibulum, I can understand how you feel. It's hard to look at such intense visual stimulation, 24/7... but an an artist myself, I feel that even when the reaction the viewer of the artwork itself, is shock or even aversion, it has it's profound effect upon our consciousness. Well, perhaps I should say on many consciousnesses? Hieronymus Bosch, Max Ernst and Salvador Dali were much the same, in other centuries. I respect him to a tremendous degree! We respond to the images and how they make us feel, think and react psychologically and even spiritually. And honestly, while I would probably prefer to have a relaxing dinner near one of Claude Monet's serene masterpieces... I admire Alex more than words can properly express. His tremendous work encompasses the totality of the human experience and leads the observer into the intricacies of the psychedelic experience. He is literally mapping-out many of his own interior spaces and deepest inner visions. In my little book of opinions and preferences, he is a bonafide genius! And he is a HUGE inspiration to younger painters like Luke Brown and many others talented kids. There is no self to which I cling, for I am one with everything.
