For SWIM, the perfect spice pipe would look like this:

The point of this idea is that you look like you're really smoking a genuine archetypal nice old-man's pipe.
Not some dodgy hippy thing that may well be made of wood but still screams "Drugs! Arrest me!".

But the hollow wooden disguise splits into two down a central seam. Inside, there is a glass pipe. This inner pipe fills its inner envelope, making it wide enough to collect a good amount of smoke, and also wide enough to make it washing-machine washable for excellent convenience and superclean smokes.

The coppers think you're having a nice bit of oldboy shag. But really you're puffing away on sweet Elfjuice!

Or even better would be a glass pipe hidden inside a disguise that one may chew on... such as an opaque glass drinks bottle. Now this pipe would be designed as a vaporiser, but also so that there is NO ESCAPE of smoke. Then you could smoke it INSIDE without anyone noticing. Maybe once you've had your hit, the smoke is exhaled BACK INSIDE the chamber. But everyone else thinks you're just having a swig of juice.

The lighter would be disguised too with the flame hidden by the disguise. Not sure what... tin of lip balm or something? Both have to be such great disguises that a copper handling them wouldn't even realise what they really were.

Then you could go to a museum and smoke it surrounded by the sleeping pharoahs, etc. It'd be good for outside too. Now THAT would be the perfect pipe.

C'mon manufacturers, give the people what they want!

Or even check local head shops for "oil inhalers". The ones in my city/state/country, w/e, sell all sorts of these; similar to the one in the picture that homie posted above me.

Not a bad idea, I have never seen a pipe with those "specs" available before so I'm sure it would find it's market niche.

The "head shop" market would like it as you said, because it a bit less suspicious looking.
Although really, how less obvious is it?
How many people do you really ever see smoking an old school tobacco pipe, outside of their own backyard or living room?
The fuzz is concerned with what's inside of the pipe...
Still, it would have a clean taste like glass, plus it would probably be strong as hell.

There would probably be a number of the old school, tobacco smoking, "Ye Ole' Pipe & Tobacco Store" kind of guys that would enjoy the cleaner taste that a glass pipe provides, with the "old school" wooden pipe look, shape & feel as well!
Maybe even more so that the "head"-set.

Even if the glass was permanently embedded inside of the wooden shell, it would still be easy enough to clean & would make it very durable as well.
I wonder if there would be heat expansion problems, that would make this hard to implement?

Well why not draw it up & patent the idea ye self?
You could sell the idea to other pipe manufactures.
Or, find a small machine shop/glass shop to make it for you & sell it to headshops, pipe distributors etc... yourself.
I'm pretty sure this is what the VaporGenie guy did. Small, 1 man operation, farms out the "construction" to a few small shops around New York.

the hurricane is probably the best water-pipe money can buy for several reasons....but it is stupidly expensive. however, SWIM is wealthy beyond measure and shall spare no expense where his spice experiences are concerned. a wonderful oil-bubble fitting on the end is the perfect little home for the spirit to reside prior to becoming one with your essence and you gotta admit....that sucker is DEAD SEXY!

but how does SWIY put it away after taking the puffs? Gotta be careful not breaking it heh? SWIM has more than once completely lost the sense of being holding a bong in his hand after the 3rd toke.. When he has someone next he beforehand asks the person to take it from his hand, or when he's alone he always smokes in the bed so he just drops it on his side where it doesnt break..

SWIM uses a small and simpler glass bong than the one SWIY has, but definitely does the trick and looks simple but nice enough to not devalue the whole ritual of smoking haha

swim can break through pretty dang easy any more....used to take a .04 dose and now it's just two big lungfuls (sometimes only one!) on the last big toke he simply leans over, puts his hurricane lovingly down and just after exhaling away he goes....all is bliss....

So, does the water collect any spice you can later pull from?

back when SWIM used to put ice in the tube he believes it may have caused the spice to re-condense on the sides....but only very slightly. now he goes sans ice and gets all the goods every hit... the beauty of the hurricane is that it pulls fresh air in at the same time so the hit is HUGE and IMMEDIATE. NO TIME TO CONDENSE WHEN THAT SPICY BABY'S MOVING AT 100 MPH!! VIVA LA HURRICANE!

Benzyme & Others who have used oil bubblers...

Can someone explain how the oil bubbler above actually works in practice? This is a newb question, I know, but the archives haven't presented much information. I'm guessing it is fairly simple - "oil" in the bottom, warmed to vape using a flame, mouth goes on one of the two "stem pieces" and when inhalation takes place, fresh air moves from the other stem and forces the vape out. Is this correct? Does the particular piece of labware picture in Benzyme's post look useful? It seems that one's base is quite wide - where a more test-tube style might make more sense (let it pool at concave bottom of the tube.. Any help on bubblers, test tube vaps, etc would be interesting for many of us.
