being overjoyed at my first successful extraction I am also a bit confused over the results I got as some information I have been told appears to be wrong or over zealous. the tech I used was taught to me by a close friend who I know gets good results so I trusted his advice over what I read here and elsewhere.
I took 3.5 kg of plant material that I ground down in a blender then proceeded to wash that three times with a phosphoric acid solution at a ph of 3, which resulted in 16 litres of dark red liquid. I then took that combined 16 litres and boiled it down over a period of 9 hours which was done on a gas stove on full blast.
this is where some confusion pops into my mind as I've seen more than a few people advise against such levels of heat as they claim that over 68 degrees Celsius the dmt will either evaporate or degrade. a friend of a friend who is an organic chemist told me that It would be closer to 168 for an acid salt so it would be great to hear other people's experiences here.
the other point of confusion is over shellite in Australia; I've been reading that people seem to think this doesn't work as well or not at all as the formulation has changed... well aside from the fact that it pulled shitloads for me, the msds from diggers rest still states that this is 99.99% naphta. I did my first pull with hot naphta and the second with cold and the second pull yielded almost as much as the first ( 8.5g first pull, 7.3 on the second ). this was not old stock either, I know this as my local bunnings was bought out of its shellite a few weeks back and only just recieved new stock, the markings on the bottom show this also.
I'm new to the extraction side of the medicine so would love to hear from people who can share their experiences especially in regards to heat and dmt. I would share some photos of the end results but my silly phone won't let me attach files; if it is possible and I'm just not working out let me know and I'd be happy to share!

Also I do not understand why would you start extraction with 3.5kg of bark. That looks like you are extracting not only for your self but maybe try to sell dmt to others and this is definitely big NO on this forum.

So my question is why are you extracting from 3.5kg specially when this is your first extraction ?

firstly I am asking about heat exposure and dmt. second of all, never said I was workin with bark. thirdly I don't know where you get "sounds like you're selling" when I never even mentioned anything to do with this.
all these assumptions that you have no grounds to make are also a big no on this forum. I make medicine for my own reasons and no matter how much I have I refuse to bring money into, what is for me, something deeply spiritual. I don't why you think you are entitled to insult me on so many levels when I was merely asking a few simple questions but if you don't know or can't understand the question then keep your bile to yourself.

Please understand that ANYTHING that even points to buying/selling can lead to trouble for this forum. In the past we had several people who clearly had bad selling intentions for DMT and they all use large scale (>=1kg) extractions.

Normally for the first extraction we recommend about 50grams. That way you can learn about the extraction and if it fails it will not be a big loss.

Now to your extraction:

By using phosphoric acid you are using an acid that will not evaporate during the boiling down, so by boiling down you will get a VERY high concentration of phosphoric acid in your mix. So it is recommended to use vinegar if you are using an acid phase in your extraction, the vinegar will boil away with the boiling down.

The DMT in an acidic solution will be in a salt form, since you use phosphoric acid it will be DMT-phosphate and that has a boiling point that is much higher than 100C. So that means that boiling the acidic solution is no problem.

As for the shellite: if it is stated as 99.99% naphtha then that will be good to use.


One more thing, on this forum it is not needed and even unwelcome to use any cursing and/or slang. So it is better to leave the terms like 'sh*tloads' out of your posts.
