I would be happy to dicuss, but to be honest you might not get much sense out of me because i am completely baffled as to whats really going on!

To me that is proof you know what is going on better than most.

As for wondering what your place in the world is, if you see the planet as a mother, perhaps the only real goddess (in that she actually exists) and wondering about your relationship with her . Is this not spiritual? Perhaps philosophical/spiritual..? Is spirituality just a personal thing depending how your mind works?

I do not view contemplation as spiritual, nor wondering, nor postulating. One may contemplate spiritual matters, but for me that is not the same as being spiritual. For example, one may contemplate using a computer, but that is not the same as using one.

I have an allegiance with the planet, sort of, insofar as I am of it, and a related belief system. I am aware of my relationship to and with her, using her here as a non-gender specific term. For me thinking, believing and or knowing this is not spiritual. Working with it specifically is, because it entails working with spirit.

For me spirit is a form of energy directed by intent. Using spiritual technology is to me a spiritual practice, merely having spiritual beliefs however isn't a spiritual practice in my limited imagination.

Good quality Syrian rue (Peganum harmala) for an incredible price!

I prefer to think of our understanding of the world as models (idea borrowed from those smarter than I), and while our models get more and more complex, they are no substitution for the real thing, which is by definition completely unknowable. So I just ponder it, and most importantly, enjoy the ride.

I agree with this!

Albert i understand what you mean about the difference between praciticing something and just contemplating it. But what if the contemplation leads to a spritual energy.
Going back to the mother earth analogy (for me the earth is a lady, don"t know why ,she just is, and the french pronounce her in the feminine so that makes me double sure).
If i am outside and contemplating my surroundings and i get a tingle down my back, like when i listen to a nice bit of music. What is that? Its gotta be energy and if its come from what i"ve been contemplating, then is that not spirituality thru contemplation.

Spiritual energy brought about by contemplation of mother earth. The tingling from music i think is spiritual, everyone likes music, i think there is some link between music and how everything fits together, i think i might have to look more closely into that.

I maybe going out on a limb but i think all people are spiritual whether they know it or not. For example, your average joe (or sheila), they take their dog out for a walk each day or maybe goe fishing. Its not just the activity, its the spiritual interactions with their surroundings, some realise this, some don"t, but theyre all doing it, whether they are aware of it or not. In fact i"d go as far as saying i think everyone is having a spiritual experience all of the time and the trick is to realise that you are, and tap into it.

No one has any more spiritual depth than anyone else, it"s just that some are more aware of certain scenarios that could be taking place, not only internally, but between us and our surroundings.

Another good theoretical example is house"s reiki session where i posed the question that maybe it was not the reiki, but the spiritual energy between house and the reiki lady who he had a subconsciuos attraction to . He hasn"t realised it yet, he can feel the spiritual energy, because he strikes me as quite an aware dude. But the problem solving part of his brain is not liking the fact that said reiki lady is way older and has 2 kids ,even though she has a body way younger than her years and an interesting brain (i"d be in there like a rat up a drainpipe, but iv"e done the older woman/2 stepkids scenario before, so i have shed my culturally infused dogma. Although, i did have dreams where i was making love to my mother but also my girlfriend as the same person- very disturbing, however i do not regret this relationship, i think it helped me grow as an individual). That last example (the one about house, not my subconscious thoughts on one of my ex"s being my mother) is entirely theoretical just a way to illustrate my point.

And i guess psychedelics don"t necessarily make you deeper, just more aware.

Could be.

I am not sure I can make the connection, but it could certainly be as you say.

I am not sure I can make a connection between contemplating the spiritual and engaging the spiritual. For example, whom we call "mother earth"... lets say I have an ongoing relationship with her, for the sake of the discussion

I can either think about calling her, or call her and talk to her
and while when i think of her I feel her and she feels me
it isn't quite the same as when I talk to her and she responds in her way

and maybe I can't call her, without going through that step where I think about it
but maybe I can call her, knowing I can, without contemplating or considering it...

I suppose I consider her to have spirit, to be a spirit... hard to explain how I use that word in an ironic combination of all its definitions at once...

and while considering the invocation might itself invoke or at least be evocative, invoking certainly invokes in an efficacious manner

there aren't many spirits I work with these days, but she is among them and is in just about every prayer i make
