I really enjoyed this read! I don't really know if it was truly intended to be taken as true. It's really just a fun little story... but it does make you wonder.
Yes, the syntax doesn't change, but it would be more suspicious if it did. It would suggest the author was intentionally creating a character, rather than giving an account of an experience, in his words.
The ideas presented are very interesting. I have for a while now deduced the non-interfering nature of God. There is only really two options if there is a God: a) God absolutely does not interfere or b) God is extremely dedicated to the image of not interfering. In either case, it is our responsibility to conduct ourselves with the notion of God not helping us out.
Why is there suffering? Why do good people die and bad people seem to live on and on? It's because we have to figure this out for ourselves. If God decided to run everything, we'd never learn anything. We'd never grow. What's the point of having us around if it has nothing to do with growing, evolving, developing, and learning to live with each other and thrive with each other?
To some, these ideas would be belittling. I find them empowering!
The thing about this story is that no story like this will ever be 100% believable. The most perfectly crafted story still just wouldn't satisfy most people. If this is actually true, most people wouldn't believe it. I really think this is the most likely scenario of God did decide to talk to someone.
Not that I believe it...
