I'm going to Florida on vacation and wish to take a small dose of mushrooms, probably 1g. I want to eat them and then enjoy the beach and the ocean, the sand and the sun, maybe ill take them in the afternoon and walk on the beach at night. I love walking at night.

But anyway, the dilemma is bringing my mushroom with me. I will be traveling via airplane.... Some would say to just ship it to my condo in Florida, but I'm not sure that's a safe option either. I am wondering what you guys would do? Not take the risk? Or find a way to bring it.

I would think if it was inside of luggage and not in a carry on, or on me, then it would probably not be detected at all. I was thinking of fine grinding it and putting it in a tea bag with some tea, then putting that in a tin with other tea bags, in the luggage. That seems like a pretty safe plan. I don't know if the mushroom can be cracker dry in time though. Another plan would be to chop it up really small and put it in a case, a toothbrush case, or a retainer case...

I know this is illegal and you should not advise me to do something like this. But I am just asking what you would think was the best option in this scenario. Background knowledge, I haven't tripped in around 8 months, and I have been looking forward to a trip out in nature and not stuck inside a house. This seems like the perfect timing.

I'd probably not take the risk.

I'm on probation for shrooms. It is not a great thing.

I personally wouldn't do it. Imagine the hassle if things went wrong. Luggage gets randomly searched, so putting it there is risky. I strongly advise that you take a little vacation before your vacation- or after... But just enjoy your traveling for what it is. Maybe I'm being conservative and looking at this from the perspective of a middle age guy with responsibilities... But I strongly advise against taking this risk.

The drug dog supposedly "hit" on them. Not sure if that is true. But I would just go with your gut feeling.

I'm confused: why did you start a discussion that you acknowledge is explicitly forbidden here? There are other sites that will advise on this sort of thing.

PS if you are nervous about it and have to ask this way, you probably shouldn't.

I'm already on probation of possession of marijuana. So the risk is huge. But the reward is also pretty amazing. Ill think it over, thanks for the concern guys

Most of the things spoken about on this site are illegal, but they really have no reason to be, IMO. If we only spoke of legal activities, then we would just reminisce the times of drinking profusely, and smoking one too many cigarettes. That's not my idea of an entheogenic, or even philosophically purposeful experience.

That makes it even more risky, that you're already on probation. Honestly, if you really want to trip on vacation, look for hippies. Look up on google if there is a hippie scene where you are going and where they may hang out. Sounds like I'm stereotyping, but as a "hippie" myself, that's what I'd do. Most people who fit into that label likely know where to find it.

I was in a car. Routine speeding stop. They love to pull drug dogs on me where I live because I have priors and am on probation. I think they faked the "hit" on the car. There was no other drugs in there at the time or before hand for a while.

Generally the rule here is that we forbid encouragement of things that are a security risk. This most certainly is, especially with the prior. And the reward might not end up being a big deal either considering the level of risk.

Typically we might pull a thread like this, but first some of the more level heads here are going to do what we can to talk you out of this potentially terrible idea.

I used to undo the gel puck from a half used old spice pit stick all the way til it comes off, and put it inside and put the pit stick back on and screw it back on, then for good measure I'd put a bunch of armpit hair on it and make it all nasty looking... what TSA agent is going to want to dig through that. Plus old spice has a strong scent.. not that a dog probably would be fooled, but if you are not flying international through customs I highly highly doubt that a small amount shrooms well hidden would pop up on any xray or truffle sniffing dog.

Of course the best answer is don't do it, but you all give TSA a lot of credit, looks like their display of pseudo security is working.

I look at these kinds of decisions in terms of absolute risk benefit ideology (like crude game theory)


The absolute perfect scenario is that you get through the airport and get to trip on the beach, yeah.

The absolute negative scenario is that you get arrested, your trip (travel) gets fucked up, your record gets fucked up, you lose a lot of money with court costs. Ect. Ect.


Likewise you could go futher and make a distinction between, how cool would it be to trip at home with what you have and then you would have to subtract that by how much fun you assume you would have tripping on the beach. Yes this is a silly way to do math, but I'm trying to make a point.

I think there is way too much risk involved. Honestly the old expression is "risk nothing, gain nothing" but I think you'd be risking a lot to gain very little. I really don't see how the reward can be "pretty amazing". It's just a different location to trip. Maybe find a cool trip spot closer to home that you can drive to and have much less risk.

(Also they do have drug dogs at most airports, though how good they are is hit or miss. But most scent dogs are damn good at what they do)

My thoughts exactly. I would imagine a quick ride out to some pasture land with cows around should probably produce what you desire. Even if you don't find any, it would still be a fun adventure.

That state is a mushroom's wet dream! And, it's one of the few states that doesn't have laws against mushroom possession.

Nothing will ruin a vacation like being arrested in an airport.

Florida is sort of infamous for pill-mills and a numbing white powder. The security there is going to be savvy to every thing you can think of and that you can't as well.

I wouldn't risk it if I were you.

Plus, 1 gram isn't going to make a huge difference. If you want an adventure take 5 grams on an empty stomach in a dark and silence room and you'll see what I'm talking about.

And Finally.... There's a plethora of Drugs in Florida (specially Miami) So, don't take Sand to the beach.
