This is pretty common and I think there is an older thread that even covers this phenomena. I think the smell and taste of DMT is beautiful and unique and once you partake in the Spirit Molecule then you are forever left with that imprint in your memory... an imprint so strong you can smell and taste DMT even when it is not being smoked. It is truly profound and I catch myself gettin' lost in my flashbacks sometimes accompanied with the unique smell of DMT wafting through my surroundings...
1% of reality is within our plane of existence. What we feel... what we see... what we hear... what we "think" we know... The other 99% percent of reality can only be shown to us through DMT. This 99% lies within the "Realm of the Unknowns". We can only experience FULL reality when we leave this vessel, our bodies. DMT gives us a taste of this full reality... the universal knowledge is given to us by the beings who call "hyperspace" their home. When in hyperspace there is no "self" but instead this self is replaced with pure and raw energy. ENERGY CAN NOT BE DESTROYED, ONLY TRANSFERRED OR TRANSFORMED! So when you have that "ego-death" during a breakthrough trip, don't fret, you are not being destroyed but yet..... YOU ARE BEING TRANSFORMED.

I LOVE YOU, RESPECT YOU AND I THANK YOU... Dimethyltryptamine ... for showing me the 99% of reality that I would never have experienced in everyday life.

The smell of DMT is Indole, responsible for the fragrance of feces and the result of tryptamine being broken down into serotonin. So you've smelled variations of it before, like after a long night of dreaming and secreting dmt, the discharge drains down the back of your throat, causing morning breath. But now you've forever tied it to that experience of orgasmic, colorful pleasure. I think there's a phenomena to smelling substances randomly after taking them. I've had this with dmt and also with weed when I first started smoking. But I believe there are also natural biological smells scattered around the house that could remind you of DMT. Damp/molding wood gets pretty close. Old people.

I remember for awhile I kept on smelling DMT in my bathroom, and I eventually realized that it was my new shower-head. For some reason it smells very similar to DMT!

I can confirm this phenomenon. I just had this happen again yesterday. I'm not sure that this is isolated to DMT however, as I sometimes think things randomly smell like semen. Now for the record, I have not tasted my own semen, but I have simply gotten a whiff of it.

When I first had my experiences with "Spice", I had the same phenomenon happening.
Odd enough after my most recent experience with "Spice" a lot of things smell similar to pineapple.

Who knew. Smile

the former part of this is correct, but not the latter. if anything, serotonin is broken down into tryptamine, which may be further decomposed into indole

I do get the random smelling of smoalked DMT, but just today, I've been grinding Acacia confusa, and I swear I keep smelling the spice! Very happy
I hope it's so, not exactly feasible to identify shredded bark, so I've been relying on the good things I've heard about my vender.

Yes I also get this sometimes, just a whiff of air that I inhale that tastes and smells like it, but not long enough to establish definitively that it's exactly the same. I think it is simply a category of substances that share this particular odour, and you only start noticing it once you've become familiar with it through DMT.

Agreed! I find that many summer flowers smell reminiscent of dmt.

I had it happen to me today while eating chicken wings lol. Perhaps I get mine from the remnants/residue on my pipe. Since I first used it for DMT it's had the smell, and just the other day while cleaning it after recent use, I saw some goo collected in the metal threads. I figure a little goo vapor wont hurt every now and then.

I have this too, especially with flowers. It is the smell of crystals though, not of vaporized DMT.

I caught a wiff of a stranger the other day in public, and he had that classic DMT smell. He actually REEKED of it, so I discretely sidled up to him and took some big inhales Very happy He may have been smoking it, who knows, but I bet it was something else that was reminding me of DMT.

I always get random wiffs of it in strange places. Not so much the taste as the smell, even though the two are very much interconnected.

Jasmine is the flower I most associate with the smell of fresh dmt alkaloids... there is a great jasmine beer I drink that is soooo delicious and every sip is like liquid dmt goodness. Not sure if I like the beer more for the beer or the fact that it tastes how dmt smells... mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

I have had this happen to me with both DMT and nitrous oxide. It happened frequently after I tried DMT a few times and then it somewhat abruptly stopped happening after a few months (haven't ventured into hyperspace again in half a year, it's a bit too intense for me at the moment). When I had a few very deep experiences with nitrous oxide combined with marijuana this same thing happened. For a few months I felt the smell of nitrous oxide for 1-5 seconds, this happened on average about once a week. It then ended abruptly.

I would sort of get a very tiny bit of a dissociative vibe when it happened too, but could've been placebo as I was reminded of the deep experiences. And whenever the smell of DMT popped up I didn't quite feel a vibe of anything. Maybe I have a harder time accessing the psychedelic vibes of DMT in my mind.
Allt!

Every since I absorbed, "SPICE" into my mind/body/spirit, about two years ago now. There are random days where I swear I smell it or taste it in my mouth as if its right there, its a very interesting sensation because there is none around me and I'm at school or work when this happens or any where, where one would not be doing "SPICE". Has this happen to anyone else?!?

I have this occur to me on a fairly regular basis ,when smoking marijuana I start to smell straight dmt, but never a phantom taste. Could be a neural track remembering the smell simply because of the smoking action
