I am growing golden teacher mushrooms for the first time. When I was reading on the net I bumped into the problem of cobweb. This is a mold which can grow on the top of your cases. As a newbie it is hard for me to distinguish between mold and mycelium. So in the hope some experience eye can judge it from a picture? Specially the first picture! It looks like nice rhizomorphic growth to me, but without a closeup I can't really say for sure. As you say though the first pic does look a bit sus.
Cobweb tends to be more of a grey colour and as it it matures it gets little black dots on the tips of the growth. Cobweb is generally less dense looking than mycelium too, it tends to grow above the surface and is very soft looking.
If you spray cobweb with H202 (3%) it will collapse and for the most part disappear.
I say fruit those things within the next day or so, they're almost ready to go.

NO. This is exactly how my cakes would look a couple of days after the dunk and into the humidity. That's gonna be a wonderful harvest, congratulations Art Van D'lay wrote:Smoalk. It. And. See.

Beautiful!!! I love seeing strong healthy mycelium! And as has been said, often cobweb looks more grey than white. They can have the same fuzziness at times, but the color is usually a good indicator. Be an adult only when necessary.
