Recently I had my first experience with DMT in the form of Changa. It was an amazing and beautiful experience. Seeing as this was the first time I had tried anything like this, I kept my eyes open pretty much throughout. The closed eyes visuals were a little too intense for the first time, but I will certainly explore them in the future.
My question is more in the realm of the physical effects of DMT. As it is a very powerful neural transmitter, I would like to know if anyone has tried using a simple voltage meter to check if the body exhibits an increase in the mV range?
From what I understand healthy individuals have between 60 - 100 mV reading and people that have been shown to be in deep trance like states increase to 200 - 300 mV ranges.

go find a e-meter, maybe dmt scares the thetans and they flee in terror of the sentient 5-th dimensional praying mantises.
seriously though other than novelty why are you interested in this?
there have been studies when people have had resistors strapped to there heads before psylocybin has been consumes and the activity has gone up but its not like we are going to be turned into human batteries or develop static based super power any time soon.
what are you looking for?
and welcome here.

One time after a strong trip there was electricity between my arm and shirt. A real jolt of electricity bright blue. I'm quite sure I didn't hallucinate it. I think it's an interesting enough question of itself.

I've a had a bunch of "mystical" experiences with over-using dmt a couple of years ago. During that time a when I first smoalked with my newly bought pc being on a foot away from me I had graphical artifacts appear in the aftermath of the experience(not while I was tripping... good 15+ minutes after the end of experience and lying in the bed). Those looked like a bunch of purple/green/other color dots all over the background, without anything being ran as graphic intensive, just a desktop with music player on. Didnt pay much attention to it until my second experience over a week after and same thing happening again. Never smoalked again with pc being on and never had this glitch appear ever again after 2+ years of using my pc. That might be not relevant - it's just my account of experiencing electrical glitch phenomena. INFORMATION No input signal

There is definitely a lot of wacky magnetic stuff going on with the entire mindspace of psychedelia I can definitely confirm a few things: increased magnetic fields, generation of very strong magnetic fields purely from breathing exercises, definite currents of heat flowing through the body and out through the air in the form of infra-red; and this heat-current can be reabsorbed into the body as you would please. I could see this as a reddish-white hot glow, faintly but very real, passing between my hands; this was seen through closed eyes using the third eye. In fact I burnt myself doing this once, the region became pink/white, tender and painful just as if I had briefly touched a red hot metal surface. But in this case I was playing with Chi in my hands and hit myself dead on with a flat piece of cardboard - it was NOT a friction burn AFAIK as I hit it dead on. Then also, after some 16hrs of continuous meditation, I reached this hyperfine state of total silence where my entire body became a strongly pulsing electromagnet. I would pass one hand close to the other and the other hand would repel it as hard as a strong neodymium magnet. The hallmark of this state is that my entire body was totally relaxed but when I contracted a muscle, it would contract so obscenely hard as if I was doing a 1 rep max squat, yet feel like it was at total rest. If I broke the contraction, the field disappeared. There was a total synchrony & resonance between the muscle impulses which is what seems to generate the field. The rushes of heat a person experiences while meditating are not figments of the imagination to say the least; they are real and very significant heat/electricity flows through the body. What I've noticed is that spice, when it is being absorbed, feels like a white hot glowing substance. This is interesting because when I hyperventilate for a few minutes during meditation, I experience the exact same headspace as on spice. DMT seems to behave like an oxidiser in some way shape or form or it causes the release/use of oxygen through the body. When you keep your body flooded with oxygen, you can get most of the effects of DMT - especially the sensory awareness & proprioceptary effects. Department of Biochemistry, National Yang-Ming Medical College, Taipei, Taiwan. The 3-5 microns infrared spectra of the external "Qi" generated by a "Qigong" master from his palm was measured using a III-V compound semiconductor InSb detector. It was found that certain Qigong master can emit two opposite kinds of "Qi": the "facilitating" (beneficial) and "inhibiting" (destroying) "Qi". During the facilitating "Qi" emission, large amount of infrared wave were detected by a temperature rise of the air in the vicinity. When the inhibiting "Qi" was emitted, the infrared wave was absorbed from the environment resulting in a cooling of the air. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/1353653Detection of extraordinary large bio-magnetic field strength from human hand during external Qi emission. Seto A, Kusaka C, Nakazato S, Huang WR, Sato T, Hisamitsu T, Takeshige C. Department of Physiology, School of Medicine, Showa University, Tokyo, Japan. It is generally accepted that more than 10(-6) gauss order magnetism was not detected in normal human condition. However, we detected 10(-3) gauss (mGauss) order bio-magnetic field strength from the palm in special persons who emitted External Qi ("Chi" or "Ki" . This detection was possible by special arranged magnetic field detection system, consisted of a pair of 2 identical coils with 80,000 turns and a high sensitivity amplifier. Each of the coils were rolled 80,000 turns accurately, and were connected in series in opposite direction, actuating as a gradiometer. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/9051169Emission of extremely strong magnetic fields from the head and whole body during oriental breathing exercises. Hisamitsu T, Seto A, Nakazato S, Yamamoto T, Aung SK. Department of Physiology, Showa University School of Medicine, Tokyo, Japan. This article reports the result of an experiment that was designed to measure the biomagnetic field emanating from two individuals who were practising traditional Oriental Qi Gong breathing exercises. The biomagnetic field was measured with differential coils wound 80,000 turns, a magnetic needle compass and a digital electromagnetic wave detection device. It was found that an extremely strong magnetic field was emitted from the two individuals. One subject emitted a magnetic field at the level of 200-300 mT (2-3 mGauss) and the other at 0.13 mT (1.3 mGauss). In both cases, moreover, the magnetic needle compass rotated 30 degrees (this was tested 32 times). When the rotation of the needle occurred, a reproducible magnetic field of 800-1500 mT (8-15 mGauss) was indicated on the digital measuring device (this was tested 12 times). It is concluded that traditional Oriental Qi Gong breathing appears to stimulate an unusually large biomagnetic field emission. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/11474806Effects of QiGong on brain function. 1: Neurol Res. 2001 Jul;23(5):501-5. Litscher G, Wenzel G, Niederwieser G, Schwarz G. Biomedical Engineering Unit, Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care, University of Graz, Auenbruggerplatz 29, A-8036 Graz, Austria. gerhard.litscher@kfunigraz.ac.atQiGong is an ancient and widely practiced Chinese meditation exercise. We studied the effects of QiGong on brain function with modern neuromonitoring tools in two subjects. In a male QiGong master (extremely trained practitioner), the technique induced reproducible changes in transcranial Doppler sonography, EEG, stimulus-induced 40 Hz oscillations, and near-infrared spectroscopy findings. Similar effects were seen after the application of multimodal stimuli and when the master concentrated on intense imagined stimuli (e.g. 22.2% increase in mean blood flow velocity (vm) in the posterior cerebral artery, and a simultaneous 23.1% decrease of vm in the middle cerebral artery). Similar effects were seen in the female subject. Neuromonitoring during QiGong appears able to objectify accompanied cerebral modulations surrounding this old Chinese meditation exercise. Key points1:40-2:10 (newspaper lit on fire with hands - IR or EM thunderbolt?) 7:00 onward - They hook up a current/voltage meter to a Chi master. The strange thing is that they measure no discernable potential difference between him and some object. But when they attach one wire to him and the other to another human, they measure a sizeable potential! What does that suggest?

^ holy crap man... over 3 orders of magnitude increase in the 2nd study. That's crazy, I wonder what's the scientific explanation on that. INFORMATION No input signal

Some more papers in this thread on another site dedicated to Qi work: http://thetaobums.com/to...ies-with-qigong-masters/Explore the site, there is a lot to learn on there for sincere adepts. I have made a thread discussing these phenomena elsewhere on this forum - Instant methodology to directly control magnetism and see it with third eye (Coulomb's Law)What I observe is that the source of this biomagnetism is semen retention via the practice of Brahmacharya (total celibacy, abstinence from all cravings whether sexual or pertaining to other sense objects). If you can hold in the energy for at least 2 weeks, an adept meditator should begin to observe strong magnetic currents running through the body. When the energy is depleted, the currents also dissipate. How to hold the energy? The sexual centre (lower dan tien) mediates all sexual cravings, stores all life force. Any craving for any sense object seems to arise from here, whether it is sexual, a craving for food, a craving to drive fast cars, a craving to breathe, it does not matter. Just typing this alone I feel the magnetic currents rushing through my body from the keyboard, suggesting to me that either someone is reading these words or that in the future someone is having some kind of Satori-type experience related to what is written herein - a self-fulfilling prophecy of course. When you experience a craving, contract the navel to the spine. Exhale all air when doing this, before, during and after. Pull up the entire lower surface from the lower abs to the pelvic floor. You should feel a strong pull like a cord at your navel is pulling up your pelvic floor/genital region; the pull should not be in your abs but more so where the bladder is. If you exhale the air correctly, the craving energy will be emitted out through your lungs and you will feel this as physical heat, it will be hotter than the normal exhale. Through relentless application of this technique and the control of the microcosmic orbit, you will open up vistas of experience you would have thought are superhuman. They are not superhuman whatsoever, they have always been there. If you want to accelerate this process, then go on an intermittent fast with minimal food and what food you do eat, should be as nutrient dense as possible (e.g. wheatgrass, barleygrass, spirulina, chlorella, cacao, hemp).

Interesting.
On my breakthrough it was like warm jelly rushing all over. After I have in conscious REM and meditation felt the warmth of trance. It is even more interesting considering some people feel cold on a breakthrough and more often on sub-breakthroughs people come back feeling very cold and want blankets. I wonder why that is? Anyone know?
