We've all been shocked and terrified by the many newsstories of people
being arrested & persecuted for manufacturing DMT. First mostly in the US.

Then in the UK and in Germany. (maybe DMT-busts in some other countries?)
UK has banned the import or sales of MHRB. Australia making plans to ban
1000nds of DMT & mescaline bearing plants & cacti, including Acacia;
their national symbol. Malignent madness like this has been plentyfull
in the last 2 to 3 years

But let's focus on some positive developments that have been occuring as well
in these same years:

- Peru:
decriminalised Ayahuasca and declares it it's national cultural heritage

- Brazil:
did the same for Ayahuasca, some time before Peru did I think.

- Equador:
did the same, or at least I caught rumours of it. Can't be too sure.

- Portugal: decriminalised drugpossession (in quantities clearly for personal use)

-Colombia did much the same, but for cocaine, amphetamines & RCs like LSD and 2CB too. (Strange bunchWut? ...but still a step in the right direction)

I think Portugal was the first to start this new trend of applying "reason"
to drug policies. Pleased These are certainly forward, bright decisions & have
caused me to consider Brazil, Portugal, Peru & Equador to be desirable
locations to migrate to if my own country becomes too unbearable to live in.
It certainly seems to be working at it. Sad "Reason" is becomming less populair
here every day.

But I would like to make a list showing all countries that are changing their
drug policies for the better & explaining how they're doing it.
I'll just start with this brief list and expand it with new country names &
information about their drug policies as I find more info on it.

Quote:
- Peru decriminalises Ayahuasca and declares it it's national cultural heritage
- Brazil did the same for Ayahuasca, some time before Peru did I think.
- Equador did the same, or at least I caught rumours of it. Can't be too sure.
- Colombia did much the same, but for cocaine, amphetamines & RCs like LSD and 2CB too. (Strange bunchWut? ...but still a step in the right direction)
- Portugal
"Even if there are no criminal penalties, these changes did not legalize drug use in Portugal. Possession has remained prohibited by Portuguese law, and criminal penalties are still applied to drug growers, dealers and traffickers

Individuals found in possession of small quantities of drugs are issued summons. The drugs are confiscated, and the suspect is interviewed by a “Commission for the Dissuasion of Drug Addiction” (Comissões para a Dissuasão da Toxicodependência – CDT)"

Small (or personal or noncommercial) amounts mean:

25 g Cannabis (herb)
5 g Hashish
2.5 g Cannabis Oil
0.5 g Pure THC
50 µg LSD
1 g MDMA
2 g Cocaine (Hydrochloride)
0.3 g Cocaine (Benzoylecgonine)
1 g Heroin
1 g Methadone
2 g Morphine
10 g Opium
1 g Amphetamine
0.1 g PCP

(I didn't list Holland but they still have some good drug policies: Each household
is still legally allowed to grow 5 Cannabis plants & (after banning magic mushrooms)
it is still legal to grow & possess magic mushrooms for personal use. However politics &
media have been slipping into a more repressive, prohibitionist approach the last 5 years
or so)

I'll expand the list untill we have a neat, clear list
of countries where one day perhaps extracting & consuming Entheogenic compounds will not be
seen & persecuted as a vile crime against Civilisation. Perhaps one day people like us, Psychonaughts who use Entheogenic plants/compounds, could live in a country where we could
grow or buy our plants, acids, bases & solvents, extract our precious compounds and ingest
them out in the open, peacefully, without any paranoya whatsoever. I don't care if people
mass-producing/extracting psychedelics & trying to make a fuckload of money off of them peddling them to anyone & everyone are still harshly persecuted: They deserve it.

As long as cultivation, preparation/extraction & possession of Entheogenic compounds will
be legalised in some countries I am a happy man. And that is exactly what appears to be happenng in the countries I listed. Smile

Can you guys here help me gather information about these countries & the specifics about
their more sensible drug policies?
Any new developments in the drugpolicies of these countries: If you know of any news, do share. Also if you know any other countries that
are changing their drug laws & policies for the better, do share it here.

Help me map the "Entheogen-friendly territories" on this planet.Big grin

Let's not forget Washington and Colorado legalizing cannabis! We'll gladly take the tourism that Amsterdam used to be known for!

Absolutely. Wow, I completely forgot about this. This was world news and even
all over facebook and in memes on 9gag Razz Great developments as well.

I have some questions about these legalisations in Washtington & Colorado:
The Netherlands never actually legalised cannabis by law. Rather they altered
their policies to, despite the law, allow & not persecute the sale of cannabis
from "coffeeshops" & the possession of small amounts for personal use. Also
each household is permitted to grow up to 5 Cannabis plants of which only 2
at a time may be blossoming. However the mass-cultivation & bulk sale of growers
to shops is still fiercely persecuted by Dutch police & court of law. All in all
a very half-assed attempt at legalisation

Do Colorado & Washington allow Coffeeshops like those in the Netherlands?
Do they allow big scale cannabis cultivation(for supplying cannabis to coffeeshops)?
Do they allow adults to home cultivate their own Cannabis? And how much per person/household?

Furthermore, since Ayahuasca has been decriminalised in Brazil & Peru,
what are the laws & policies in these countries concerning extracted
DMT from MHRB or Chacruna leaves for personal use?
Does anyone have any info on that?

Washington still has to work out a good bit of the regulations behind it. At the moment, it is legal to possess up to an ounce. There is no legalization of growing, except maybe with a permit ( I think only for medical card holders, but I could be wrong). Though, I highly doubt they'll come busting down a guy's door for growing for personal use. There will be shops that sell, and the goods will be taxed (most likely out the arse, but hey!). There's no use in public places, but the priority to stop someone will be less than stopping someone from publicly drinking. I've already noticed an increase in people toking in public (smells heavenly).

In the Seattle area weed was already more or less legal for a long time. There have long been cafes that were for the medical users to hang out at, and now everyone's welcome! There aren't any legal places to buy yet, but a person doesn't have to worry about being busted for weed any more!

Colorado's laws from what I can tell are less stringent than Washington. I'm pretty sure growing will be legal up to a few plants there. That's the biggest difference I've heard, but I know more about Washington than Colorado.

Under the new Colorado laws you are allowed up to 6 plants in a locked indoor grow room, only 3 at a time can be flowering.

Quote:
(b) POSSESSING, GROWING, PROCESSING, OR TRANSPORTING NO MORE THAN SIX MARIJUANA PLANTS, WITH THREE OR FEWER BEING MATURE, FLOWERING PLANTS, AND POSSESSION OF THE MARIJUANA PRODUCED BY THE PLANTS ON THE PREMISES WHERE THE PLANTS WERE GROWN, PROVIDED THAT THE GROWING TAKES PLACE IN AN ENCLOSED, LOCKED SPACE, IS NOT CONDUCTED OPENLY OR PUBLICLY, AND IS NOT MADE AVAILABLE FOR SALE.

we have smoke friendly cafes here in vancouver also..and peyote is legal to grow and posess at least when live for anyone in canada..iboga is legal as well as ibogaine.

Cannabis is not really something that is a big deal here..it is illegal but still we have some cafes where you can order food or coffee and sit down and smoke a joint and the authorities dont bother them as long as they dont serve alcohol or have any cannabis sales going on etc..

Ive been caught with cannabis a few times here in parks etc..and I have never even been handcuffed. They just usually take it away or make me dump it out and step on it..unless you have really large ammounts I guess..never been in that situation but in general Canada is way more lax about the drug thing than the US. Even in states where cannabis is legal I would not want to be caught with mushrooms or peyote etc..

also I thought that in brazil it was only legal for ayahuasca to be used by reigious groups like Daime and UDV(and these groups actaully were in support of that). I remember reading a while back that use outside of those churches was not legal. I have no idea where indigenous groups fit in there but I would imagine they leave them alone.
Long live the unwoke.

SKA, if you wish for your list to be helpful it needs to be exact.

First off, you have to be aware that the words legalization/decriminalization/etc are very vague and most often used incorrectly since they are not coupled with the specific act. It has to refer to either manufacturing/cultivation, possession or usage (of psychoactive substances).

In case of Portugal

0.1 g PCP

What is more, is trafficking.

Czech republic has decriminalized possession (and cultivation where it's mentioned) of the following:

Marijuana 15 grams (or five plants)
Hashish 5 grams
Magic mushrooms 40 pieces
Peyote 5 plants
LSD 5 tablets
Ecstasy 4 tablets
Amphetamine 2 grams
Methamphetamine 2 grams
Heroin 1.5 grams
Coca 5 plants
Cocaine 1 gram
Got GVG ? Mhm. Got DMT ?

I know it is a vague list, because I didn't have the specific information at hand.
But thanks to people like you I now do. At least on the Portugal situation.

As I learn more details from other nexians I'll update the list with
new & more accurate information. In the end I hope I can make some sort
of world map based on the gathered information with Green, Yellow, Orange
& Red colored countries & states indicating the varying levels of
freedom for Psychonaughts.

Those Portugese amounts of drugs possessed for personal use sure surprised me....
25 grams Cannabis is quite generous considered in the Netherlands only 5 grams
at a time may be in possession of an individual. I think 25 grams is a much more
realistic estimation of the max. amount of cannabis for personal use.

What confused me was the allowed amount of LSD.... isn't 50 micrograms a dose of
LSD that is hardily psychoactive in anyone? Seems like about 4 times less than
the average "papertrip" contains...weird. A realistic amount for personal use
would be more like between 5 & 10 hits/papertrips of acid, if you ask me.
That amount is a decent stash for personal use & certainly no amount to
suggest that someone is likely dealing it.

@ Jamie:
Since UDV, Santo Daime and many native shamans have been legally allowed to do ayahuasca
in Brazil.....would it be considerably easier to found another Entheogen-using religious group & get government recognition and immunity of persecution than in other countries?

Surprisingly in Russia possession of up to 6g weed (as I understand "weed" here means any part of marijuana plant) and 2g hash are decriminalized.
Though it's just law ...
