On mushrooms I hear what I believe to be my own inner voice, it's as if I am able to sort through everything in my life very clearly and my inner voice guides me in a positive and constructive manner that I am not always able to achieve in regular, daily life.

The only time that I have observed The Voice from what seemed an external source was on Salvia - I went into her realm not knowing what to do or what to expect, she was quite stern with me and asked me directly 'WHAT DO YOU WANT?', I didn't answer, but she followed the question with the statement, 'Well, if your just here for your own amusement than I guess you wan to laugh, then should laugh''.

Which I did. Loud and hard and rather manically.

I also heard the intergalactic singing of a barbershop quartet.

...it was all rather bizzare but the lesson I learnt was that the spirit of salvia is rather serious and that it's vital to have clear intentions before you enter these other dimensions.

I both smiled cheek to cheek and laughed a bit when I read this. Not for any insulting reason, but because I often do so when a moment with another comes about where I know exactly what they mean. A sort of been there, understand that, in the most epic of ways.

I wonder if when we finally come to the point where we can observe this particular personality of the voice speaking, if it is the same for all. If you were to observe it at the same time as I, would it be saying the same thing?

I also wonder if you felt the same in the sense that it has a very religious feel, structure, and tone. Even though it is often speaking out against religion IMO.

i have observed the voice more like it has intruded my mind , its useless , don't listen to the Voice , its not your voice , your voice is the one that comes out of your mouth not your head , the voice is just consistently keeping you from the prize that is this moment

thoughts are like a prison of the mind , the voice is whats keeping you in the prison away from the truth ,

avoid the voice , discared it dont rationalise , debate or argue with the voice just listen to music and pay attention to you senses and breath

forget the voice , its not your voice neither of God , it is the voice of garbage that has been collecting in the mind for the time here on earth

I have to agree and disagree with this. I think the voice could not be my own, but it also could be. I would neither agree nor disagree with my voice being the voice coming out of the body. That could be the bodies voice in my opinion, and not your own, and it could be your own. Depends on how you want to see it. I see it as myself having no voice at all, and instead just being a silent observer.

Also one cannot attempt to discard it, or force it to begone. With force comes resistance. The more you try to do as you say. The worse it will get. Instead let it run out of steam and just watch as it destroys itself. Imagine having a disagreement with a loved one. You have now come to the point of yelling. You yell at her/him, and in turn they yell back. You tell them to calm down or be silent, and in turn they yell louder. (The whole "be calm" "DON'T TELL ME TO BE CALM, I AM CALM" deal.) Now imagine only they are yelling and you sit there silently. At first this angers them. They bait you with insults in an attempt to get you into joining them, but you sit there silent. They get even more mad that you refuse to even talk, let alone yell back, and again you sit there silently. Eventually they feel foolish for shouting at someone whose not even talking back, and they storm out of the room.

I wouldn't agree nor disagree that it is not the the voice of God because what is God? We cannot definitely know it's not, so we can not definitely say it's not. I refer to God not in the Holy Bible biblical lies that have been force fed to us, and more in the sense of God being another term for The Tao. Just for stating purposes. No, I do not think it's God. I am just open to the possibility that it could be.

I do fully disagree about it being useless. Nothing is without use. Even if its purpose is to have no purpose then it has purpose. I would state that it can be useless at a point, or become useless at a point, but to deny that there is ever a need for it would be incorrect IMO. Simply because there is nothing that is truly useless.

While at the same time I mostly believe the voice is not my own. I know that because you cannot truly know anything. Then one must be open and just open that it could be.

Fully believing either option leaves you closed to the other. One must be fully open to every possibilty to allow the Tao to flow freely.

For instance I just stated that I know that nothing can be truly known. So I must also know and be open to the fact that it is possible to truly know something.

I don't see why you couldn't actually master this. i used to argue with it all the time now i just try to find my voice. you can't really win against it.
I think we should take that voice try to make it our own or silence it like jin suggests.
i think this can lead to a higher meditative state.

The mind I observe likes to think of it as this.

We are all Neo.

Mr. Smith is The Voice.

Neo dies (realizes he's the one, that we are all the one) and dis-identifies with The Voice.

His Dis-identification with it allows him to kill (silence) Smith (The Voice).

But The Voice comes back. Smith comes back.

The more Neo fights and uses the ability to silence The Voice (which I'm sure at least some of you have) The more conflict it creates.

The rest of the movies Smith is attempting to re-identify with Neo.

Neo fighting him is you attempting to forcefully silence The Voice.

Him doing so is what creates the need for more Smiths. More Voices.

Neo, you, do not want to re-identify with The Voice out of fear of once again losing who you are, and losing control which is what The Voice is after.

In the end Neo, you, realize that you must stop fighting it and allow Smith to become you. Now that you know it is not you, he can never truly be you.

In the end you realize you and the voice are only enemies because that is how we grow the most. With an opposing force. Evil is not just there for the balance because there is Good. Evil is there, here, because it is what makes the Good progress.

We are all Neo, and we are all Smith. We separate to begin to become one, and willingly merge together and let The Voice take over (let it think it takes over again) to become truly whole.

Many will fear doing this when their time comes for it. They will fight over and over and over again. They will not want to give up the control over their life that they believe they have just obtained. Only when you realize that true control is giving up control willingly, will you understand what needs to be done. Give up control, and receive all control.

This does not mean the voice will once again re-identify and never shut the hell up. It means it will continue to try over and over and over again but not ever truly succeed. It will win small here and there battles but you will dis-identify with it automatically without really even trying. The silence and gaps will grow more frequent and longer the more it tries, and it's once again push for control will set you free.

This also does not mean let your guard down and stop being aware of it. Use its annoying attempts to bait you into re-identifying with it to help build your awareness.
