Can all 44 angels fit on the head of a pin?
Images of broken light,
Which dance before me like a million eyes,
They call me on and on...

Nicely played. Big grin

Honestly, while such things can make for interesting mind games, I think there's a real danger in taking such thoughts too literally. Synchronicities do occur, for sure, but it's also easy to find patterns where ever you want to.

Seriously, why would 44 be any more significant than 23 or 9 or any other numbers? Some people are fascinated by occurrences of 11. The golden ratio (1.618...) is all over nature and is a pretty amazing number.

I'm not saying there are or are not such a thing as Angels, but to say there are exactly 44 of them is pretty specific. I guess I'd need a little more than just seeing the number a lot before I'm convinced.

Maybe I'm just a bit of a skeptic, or even a cynic, but in general I feel like the more specific one's beliefs are, the more likely they are to be wrong.

Tell me there is a sentience behind all of existence, I'm not certain but it seems likely. Tell me an exact dogma or system of belief which this sentience insists upon and I'm going to want some more evidence.

44 is so beautiful just aesthetically.

Well, 88 is more symmetrical. or 808. I had a bed clothing when I was a kid that was embroidered with these awesome shapes that look like 808. I like it.

I read that triple digits appear on clocks 34 times a day... (2X 17 times)
while many other numbers only appear 2X a day
people have amazing internal clocks, someone could easily train themselves to reflexively and unconsciously look at clock when it is a triple digit time.

I've noticed 931 a lot, on the clock, in phone numbers, street addresses, various numbers, purchases etc. It is my favorite number but does not mean anything to me. I notice it all the time because i know to look for it though.

One thing I know about life though... my days are numbered!

* edited to add, I wonder what people did before digital clocks...
do you think that this same fascination arose with the hourglass, waterclock and sundial?

Surely... it's our pattern detection firmware, the V in an hourglass clock is also a shape.

But it's patterns (innate as a 18081, acquired as your 931) that can be meaningful. I cannot see how the translation of a pattern into its decimal value, essentially a human scale, can be meaningful.

Sentimental value?

I prefer geometric representations of the values to the digital, or the binary or hexadecimal versions.

If so, you would really enjoy looking into the Golden Ratio I mentioned above.

Numbers are definitely interesting and seem to always occur in patterns, and are very recognizable. I remember a few years back where I would get a sudden impulse to look at the time(even after not checking for hours), and it would be 11:11(Am or Pm) sometimes both times within the same day.

I remember one time I was having a mushroom experience with some friends and our one friend, who is a great guy, but also incredibly strange started going off on a tangent about beings, yaweh(sp?), the bible, the necronomicon(lol), and mirrors. He used numbers to represent these "mirrors" and stated that 23 inverted is 32, if you multiply 23 by 2 you get 46 which when inverted is 64, and 64 when inverted is 46; divide by 2 and youre back to 23. Also divide 64 by 2 and you get 32. The twinkle in someones eye is a mirror as well apparently. This was years ago, and he tried to tie this into god, aliens, and all that good stuff. Wish I could remember more, but I was flying on 5 grams of very potent dried mushrooms and I just remember the guy not making much sense. My other friend was like "bro, youre just really high you gotta calm down". Another time we tripped he started talking about lizard people for hours on end. I just remember being so high and laughing uncontrollably.

As far as numerical superstition goes, I find it limits 1s perspective. When you try 2 find significance in coincidences that may not be significant you can lose your ability 2 interpret the world around. This is evident if you watch people play roulette for a few hours.

Spiritually 12 and 7 and 3 are significant. 13 is said 2 be unlucky. 666, evil Twisted Evil , 9 was a number important 2 the ancient Vikings. 42 is the meaning of life the universe and everything. 1 is the loneliest number. It takes 2 2 tango. My lucky number growing up was 21 (7, the number of perfection times 3 for the trinity). I have a habit of in2itively glancing at my clock at 3:33, 4:20, and 5:55. Honestly if you're going 2 pick a number 2 obsess with I'd say go with 0 or infinity or maybe if you have a fetish 4 things round let your brain munch on a slice of pi. Drool

When it comes 2 numbers I've gotten 2 a point 2 where I try not 2 pick favorites because there are 2 many numbers out there that have aesthetic, poetic and spiritual significance. Why settle for 1 when you have the whole tapestry of life to paint with all of them, just my 2-cents. (Though I wonder how much more powerful that expression would be if I had 3 cents). Does any1 have a penny I can borrow? Pleased
