What do we know about this, I'm aware the plants that are more stressed will generally have higher yields of alkaloids. What are the theories out there right now, anyone gotta clue?
I stumble down a wooded path. A wooded path of my youth. Here spirits dance, but spirits scream. Misery and beauty entwine here- much like the suffering and the creation of the universe. My eyes glimmer black; dark circles in a darker night. Plants reach out to hold my hand- or perhaps devour me where I stand. I was afraid, it was a fight. I stumbled, stumbled on through the night. I met many a creatures- wolves and bears- ghosts and ghouls- I made love to my god, I surrendered my soul- with every step of my foot, every electrical charge of my brain, every memory of the past, every stare at the stars. I came to know twofold mysteries that night. The illusion of reality and the reality of illusion. It came to my senses then the nonsense of my knowledge. I knew at once I knew nothing. I knew at once I knew everything- for I knew then there was nothing to know.

STS is a community for people interested in growing, preserving and researching botanical species, particularly those with remarkable therapeutic and/or psychoactive properties.

I think it helps defend and protect them, largely from insects.

Thanks for the link infundibilum, and proto-pax I know this from various phalaris seed vendors and growers stating so. A tortured/ starved plant is prone to have 10 times higher alkaloid yields, atleast in the genus phalaris.

I am most interested in finding out in what region of the plant the dmt is actually (usually) produced, how is it synthesized there, what are variables that can effect it's production, and other trivial information that when put together we could all use to make intelligent hypothesis' about what the plantae function of dmt is.

Perhaps someone could tell me about the various roles of trytophan in plants?
