Not to spread any paranoia....but has anyone else noticed an increase of random pm's. saying something to the effect of "i'm about to do an extraction but i have some last minute questions, can you message me on my aim account or through yahoo?".

I've gotten a couple of these lately and i either dont respond or direct them to the "general noob" section.

I've noticed in the last couple months we have increased our membership significantly (which is good) but i suspect that their are some members that dont have the best intentions.

I'm not concerned because i'm here strictly for research and exchanging info on a fascinating subject....as i think most of us are, but should we notify the mods, when this sort of thing happens.

I HATE NARCS THAT TARGET NON VIOLENT PEOPLE AND TRY TO ENTRAPT THEM INTO SAYING SOMETHING THEY HAVENT DONE.....I AND OTHER TAX PAYERS ARE PAYING YOUR SALARY !!

I haven't gotten any random PMs but I probably wouldn't answer them if I did. You can never be too careful. A wise man once said " Just because I'm paranoid doesn't mean they aren't out to get me!" The other day I was surprised to see like 65 people viewing the General Discussion area at the same time. I know that the free transfer of ideas and knowledge is extremely frustrating to the people who think it is their duty to protect us from what they don't believe in.

I've had 2 new members pm me randomly in the last week. Both asking for advice on extractions/suppliers that wouldn't take long at all to find alone.
Before that I'd never been contacted by anyone that I hadn't already talked to in a thread. I've been concerned before by 3 members pming me about stuff that would involve me compromising my identity, and therefore swim's.
But I give everyone the benefit of the doubt, because the road of paranoia is not a fun one.
Just protect your identity to protect swim, and you and swim will be fine Smile

(You replied so quick that I hadn't finished editing my post... hence the discrepancy between my and your post!)

True...paranoia will destroy ya but there is also healthy paranoia.

All one would have to do is look up your i.p adress and they'll have an idea of who you are, i think if their are "agents" on here they are just fishing for info to see if anyone is extracting in bulk and selling.

None the less i just refer them to the supplier thread or the noob thread.

Should we notify the mods. if we get any strange pm's or just be aware and careful?

The unfortunate and possibly horrifying truth is that this is a public board on which some very un-PC things are discussed. There have been boards like this in the past and we know what happened to them...

Actually, now that you mention this. Back a few weeks ago when I was asking for help because I ended up with a bunch of N-oxide I received a PM from a member who I have never seen post before. They said that they believed they had something similar and they asked me to post pictures of my yellow goo and said he would post his so we could compare. I ignored it and he never posted any pictures. I didn't think too much of it at the time but it was kinda sketchy.

Edit: I just checked and it was a member named Jetro. He joined in december and only has one post. Shady for sure.

There were some really odd issues with the old forums. I had a website where I hosted my tek. One of the members of DMT world whose email name and their forum name were the same contacted the hosting company and tried to get them to take the site down. little did they know I owned the hosting company. I made it publicly know that there was a rat in the midst and many of the old members went private. This was actually a somewhat popular member of the forums not just a one or two posts member. Shortly after the DMTworld forums were taken down for maintenance and they never came back. Soon the site was gone.

It was known that there were people on the old board that were trying to bust or implicate members. I dont think they were the police just people who were against using and discussing psychadelics. There were several people who came on the board and claimed DMT killed their friends and one was foolish enough to say his friend flipped out and shot his family. Of course it wasnt hard to check this out and he was found to be a liar.

There was allot of drama and politics in the old forums. It wasnt really a super friendly place. There were the veteran psychonauts who had the whole 'elitist' attitude. I had alot of conflicts with them simply because at the time the teks were horrid and mine made it too easy to get the stuff done. They didnt appreciate it. They believed everyone should discover how to extract by themselves and if you werent willing to spend mass amounts of time and money learning you werent good enough to take of the journey. Then there was those who believed the opportunity should be available for everyone.

This forum is a world apart from the old ones. You all are lucky.

Please be careful.

These are probably nothing more than members being overly friendly, but "better safe than sorry"

Due to the nature of this forum being overly careful is a good thing. I doubt that police are joining this board to try and bust someone...we have members from all over the world. A DEA agent from the California office would have a REALLY hard time trying to bust someone in England, or Auzz, or even on the East Coast of the US. A phishing expedition on this forum would be a giant waste of time and effort on their part and I doubt that the DEA has that much interest when they are busy fighting the Meth epidemic, the heroin revival, and pulling up massive amounts of "ditch weed" (aka wild hemp with almost no thc) so they can claim a massive victory on the "war on drugs".

Unless they already know who you are and are building a case against you I doubt that there is any real threat...still be careful.

Wow, thanks for filling me in. Yeah befriending people would be the most straightforward way of getting enough info to bust them. But I was thinking after reading some of the stranger posts recently (not implying anything here) that if I were a hateful right-wing fundamentalist Christian or government agent, or both as they probably are, I would create multiple accounts and pretend to be insane/schizoid/deluded, or a dealer, or just plain nasty, or give dangerous advice, with the aim of discrediting the DMT community. The fact that this hasn't already happened (although from some recent posts I wonder!) is proof to me that the "God hates fags" brigade does not know about this site.

To all- I agree that there's no point trying to guess who is and isn't trustworthy. Just protect swiy's identity full stop, then swiy doesn't have to worry. And make sure any advice given is corroborated from other sources before acting on it when it could damage your health.

It's a pleasure to meet you, Vovin, I've read your tek, so thank you for sharing your knowledge.

Since the date and time of this post I'm making right now, I have't received any more random PMs in the 3 weeks since this thread was started.

If Dwhitty76, Delta-9-THC and anyone else who had them also found that they stopped as soon as this thread started, then I think conclusions could be drawn with confidence. Not many new members would've noticed this thread, but a conspiring organisation/person would have and may have then made the decision to change tactics for a while. Spooky!
