I've often wondered, if, everyone on earth concurred about some particular thing; then how that thing objectively exists in 'reality'? Is this particular thing a little bit different than what the people collectively perceived it to be? The cliche, "there's more than meets the eye" may surprisingly be more accurate than any of us expected. While attempting to get to this 'truth' so to speak I understand that the methods available are multiple, which is why I have been a casual browser of this forum for some time and have experienced the first three letters of this site's name on several occasion. The latter may indicate why I'm partial to this forum?

Dreams and reality are created in the exact same manner. The answer is yes. Both are equally as persistently non-existant. We make up the whole show. Now create a reason. A dream worth dreaming.

We are such stuff as dreams are made on, and our little life, is rounded with a sleep.

In dreams the system is fragile, it can f*** up and turn to sh**

In trips the system is fragile, it can f*** up and turn to sh**

In the imagination the system is fragile, you can f** it up and turn it to sh**

Reality is persistent. You can f*** up, but it remains the same.

There are many great responses here. If we as humans are collectively dreaming our reality I still believe that if we were removed from it completely the moon and stars would still exist. The physicality of our existence is a reality but the entire knowledge of it is likely elusive and may not ever be fully understood by us. Matter is shown to be just particles of energy in Hadron colliders. This energy, that is constantly kept in existence, I surmise is the result of something so great that we will never be able to understand the source of it as it lies outside the outer limits of our dimensional perceptions. NamahsNaicigam: I read Jung and Freud when I was in sixth grade out of pure interest and they have likely influenced some of my thought.

I'm not sure where you are going with this thread. Certainly the way we perceive reality is very much related to how we perceive dream-reality. We use our brains and our senses, except in one case there is real input and in the other it is just simulated. Relating to this reality/input, understanding it, making associations, judgements about it and decisions concerning actions that have to do with it all take place in our central processing unit using the mind-software. Thus dreams and experiencing reality are very closely related.

In essence your mind lives in a virtual reality that it creates according to the input it is able to process while your physical body lives in physical reality that, if your mind works well enough, is closely (or closely enough) resembled by the mind's virtual reality (dream?)

However usually when we say "we are dreaming reality" this implies that there is an "awake" state in which we would no longer be dreaming and would be "outside" of this reality - in the real reality. Perhaps that reality too is just a dream...

Essentially what I was getting at when I set out writing this topic is that there exists a physical reality external to our minds. Our minds are not capable of directly experiencing this physicality without the use of other physical inputs such as touch, taste, sight, hearing, and smell through physical organs. Just as a world feels real inside our minds in a dream at night, so to does this world feel real while we are awake. The world in which we spend our waking life that we interpret as being concretely real may in fact merely be the manifestation of ideas originating from a seemingly infinite consciousness in which we are all characters in its' dream. Essentially there may just be one omnipotent universal consciousness that all of our individual consciousnesses reside in as fragments of sorts. In short, just as things feel real in dreams but are just ideas in the mind so to do things feel real in the waking world but are just ideas of a much larger all encompassing mind.

There are definitely signs of this in life...
including through DMT / hyperspace phenomena, out of body consciousness and near death/passage consciousness.

Dr. John Lilly, and others, expressed the idea of "consciousness without an object",
which could also be termed transobjective consciousness.
That is, when consciousness is its own complete reality and as you are describing in the most recent post, that what is created and what phenomena exist within are dependent only on consciousness, some people give that names like akashic field.

What it suggests is there is a marriage of sensual~perceptual and hyperspatial proportions allowing the realisation of endless potential within and as pure consciousness, and within and as a different form of consciousness that is dynamically connected in certain ways to what is sometimes called matter.
