Hey there friendly people of the Nexus.

SWIM has run several extractions, but his latest one has run into a slight snag. I've created this account to help him gather info and fix the problem. In addition, he has a strong O-chem background, and would like to help others with their extra-curricular chemistry endeavors.

See you around!

Welcome to the Nexus!

What is this "snag" you're referring to?

BTW, no need to swim here. These are safe waters. Thumbs up

Thanks for the reply, wasn't sure about swimming, so I figured i'd start out safe.

Anyway, I'm fairly experienced and have run several extractions. I'm currently running an STB extraction using 1kg mhrb, 5gal water, 1.5kg NaOH. On my first pull, the mimosa mud was still hot from the heat released from the lye, and the naptha pulled off a murky purple/red color. After letting it sit for a day, the murkiness settled to the bottom, and the naptha was pulled off of the top, resulting in a clear purple/red solution. Assuming some extra plant materials were pulled out, what can be done from here to separate out the fluffy white goodness from the other crap?
