I talked with the mushroom.

I was trying to hold on to my marbles , like i always do when ingesting mushrooms.

Somehow, i always find a certain "sanity" in talking to '....." a voice inside my head

Everytime, it proves to calm me. Soothe me. And bring a certain peacefulness when talking to this voice.

few hours ago i talked. it asked ME questions. (salvia asked me questions before, it was about ME. it was actually interested in my persona)

mushrooms started asking me about my surrounding. it said, and i quote "what is that?" as my eye glanced over my deoderant. and i said "it's something to cover my smell"

"why would you do that?"

"it's just how we humans do things. i'm not sure why but i do so cus in my experience chicks don't like it if i smell like my natural odor"

come to think of it. I think i like the mushroom's point of view on my deoderant.

But i asked the question. i asked to the mushroom. What are you, to yourself?

Then i thought of Terence Mckenna. And some gossip that is going around about him never touching mushrooms since 1990' something. because he asked the same question and did not like the answer.

I began to fear. Altho i personally felt i was not to be alarmed as much as Terence. I was not in the right set and setting to get an actual answer. And i prefered to leave it at that.

I did get an eerie feeling of some nasty parasite.

I said to myself i will trust ayahuasca. And i fear that mushrooms might be here to take over the planet. And sometime in the future we will have to fight on Gaia's side to abolish all parasites on this planet.

Perhaps we are antibodies of the earth. Like antibodies the earth has SHAPED us as an immune system. And it is our destiny to identify and eventually neutralize foreign objects like bacteria and virus.

Perhaps on a cosmic scale, a mushroom species has much in common with bacteria. or perhaps even a virus. From what i have SEEN in my own hallucinations. The eerie creepy picture that presented itself as "the mushroom spirit" has much in common with bacteria.

Evil or no evil. I'd rather do ayahuasca next time. For the most part i'm influenced by Terence Mckenna's sudden fear of psilocybin. I'm just really starting to wonder what his side of the coin is right now.

^..i think mushrooms have their own 'agenda' which is not like that of dmt plants, and kind of 'pushy' in a way i didn't like..that's why i went off them years ago and switched to the plants i know now..

Mushrooms are not parasites; they are decomposers. Plants and animals are always dying and leaving their carcasses around. Mushrooms move in and live in such places, breaking down the dead organic matter into dirt/earth/plant food so that the cycle of life, death, and rebirth can continue.

I don't know much about mushroom ecology, so it's possible that I'm just spouting BS that I picked up in grade school.
Every day I am thankful that I was introduced to psychedelic drugs.

mushrooms always talk to me but nothing sinister. I have always felt and still do that the mushrooms are like little heyokas..but that their message is pure.

They are also essential for life on this planet. If mushrooms were not here we would not be here, end of story. I dont think they are parasites.

I find often though that wacked out people love mushrooms..I guess I am like that if you knew me in real life at times. I NEED that crazyness at times.
Long live the unwoke.

It can be seen either way. We may be the parasite. Growing and expanding to all parts of earth. Leaving more and more pollutants. I think the mushroom is a positive force in nature. As we industrialize more mushrooms sprout up in areas that we leave the native life dying. They are here to remind us where we came from, we must be like the mushrooms and take care of the ecosystem which gives us life. Just my opinion
We are surprisingly similar.

At some point it feels as though mushrooms and dmt
Meet in the middle embodying the same sorts of
Weird entity intelligences . I've found mushrooms
To be more inciteful and informative in general. This parasite
Feeling I have felt many times with dmt and I don't like
It . It's a diabolical feeling of an intelligence of sorts
Hijacking our minds for some unknown purpose .
It was the mushroom in fact that showed me a song that
I now use to make these weird forces go away , and it
Works .

The issue with mushrooms is that if things start
To take a bad turn your stuck in it for a while . It's a very
Delicate dance starting with the best set and setting possible.
Personally I've had nothing but amazing experiences with mushrooms
But I am always careful of dosage and keep a. Dry healthy respect for what they can do
The only way of discovering the limits of the possible is to venture a little way past them into the impossible.

Mushrooms have taught me so much about my relationship with fear than I will always be grateful to them. I wasn't always grateful at the time- praying to god (who I've never really believed in) out of desperation to stop the trip and I would never touch any mind altering substances again. LOL.

They also told me many times very sternly that I shouldn't drink alcohol so much (and I've finally learned to listed in the past year or so). They always tend to point out my insecurities and hidden worries. Difficult stuff to see sometimes, but can we ever really be whole if we deny these things?

Also for me mushrooms are much more sustainable. Easy to grow and easy to pick in my region. I don't have to order a bunch of plants from halfway around the world, or use local plants but have to subject them to chemical processes that still are questionable at best (delosperma, phalaris, desmanthus) possible leaving behind poisonous chemicals.

I will always be thankful to these mushrooms. I do find it interesting that their use in shamanic practices isn't very well documented considering how large of portion of the globe grows psilocybe mushrooms.

OP- maybe the "trying to hold on to your marbles" part is your problem (if there is indeed a problem). I find I benefit much more from the mushroom experience if I can just submit to it completely.

Just letting go of your marbles and watching them roll around may help your partnership with fungus.

I completely agree, some of he most important lessons about fear, life, and respect for substances came through the use of mushrooms. I would not be where I am today if I did not experience some of the trips that hey took me on; including the bad ones, they were the most important of all.

The more I eat mushrooms, the harder they are one me. Sometimes they shake things up with a nice, fun trip, but then the next time..... ugh. They are a powerful teacher, never to be underestimated. I feel as though they accept people into their fold. I have been accepted at times, and other times they are cold and disinterested. I think they will give you a kick in the ass if you need it, and a joke. Always with the jokes! Sometimes sick jokes, but often funny.

It could be that they do have an agenda against humanity. We are by default, the stewards of the planet. In many ways, we fail at this job. If the mushrooms really have a consciousness, they would be aware of all of the work they have done to cultivate this eden. Through millions of years, they have held together the fabric of nature. You'd better believe they'd be less than welcoming to a race of arrogant creatures who think they own everything, and can do what ever they want without consequences.

you have to have a sense of humor when you take mushrooms in my experience, or they are going to destroy you. They will destroy you anyway and leave you reduced to a drooling puddle of weirdness for a time, but you always come back.

I dont eat them often anymore, lol..but I will always eat them.

This. Very happy

I always have internal dialogue with the mushroom. I have seen it as a sort of parasite or bacteria in the past, but I've come to understand it more over time. It doesn't feel malevolent or nasty in any way really, more of a sick sense of humor, as has been pointed out. You better have a good sense of humor if you plan on delving deep with mushrooms Pleased

interesting thread indeed. No denying mushrooms can be powerful teachers , i like how it showed you about the deoderant, i stopped using deo about a year ago cause find it unhealthy, girls dont seem to agree but hey its all natural learn to love it!Razz

Neways perhaps like Terence proposed, that maybe mushrooms are like an alien intelligence or kind of parasite brought to earth through an astroid or something, Also perhaps mushrooms induced the evolution of human consciousness like in Terence's stoned ape theory...who knows anything is possible. I love mushrooms but cant deny personally for me found mushrooms to be less honest than aya so i as well dont trust em as much as i used to but i in no way have them figured out.Dont know bout your proposal that we need to neutralize mushrooms. yes many are parasitic but many the planet needs for decomposing. So they help restore not destroy the planet and not sure if life on the planet would be able to sustain without them and i think they help us connect to nature in some ways. I agree with what Philosopher said about humans in a way being kind of parasites, if theres anything that is threatening the planet it is humans

"Every mammal on this planet instinctively develops a natural equilibrium with the surrounding environment but you humans do not. You move to an area and you multiply and multiply until every natural resource is consumed and the only way you can survive is to spread to another area. There is another organism on this planet that follows the same pattern. Do you know what it is? A virus. " Mr. Smith kinna has a point hehe

I've always found mushrooms to be more set and setting friendly than other entheogens like salvia and LSD. I don't experience anywhere near as much mental noise on them. High doses even more so. I can easily eat a high dose of shrooms and maintain my composure. I can do it on LSD too, but it's much more difficult.

Thanks for the kind replies everyone. I was expecting way more ridicule. I was hoping for some kind of constructive criticism and that is exactly what i got. So thank you all ver much! Smile

@ Jamie, im glad to hear you are not entirely distrustful about mushrooms. My mind somewhere at some point said you might be having the same feelings I do. And i know you used to like them so it would come as quite a shock if you came and said mushrooms are evil creatures from outer space here to dominate and consummate the earth.

At some point the mushroom shared it's feelings with me about people having bad trips and treating the psilocin as a kind of poison! It said it feels kind of hurt and insulted. And compared the feeling with rejection in my day to day life.

Next time, i'm going to ask more questions. I'm afraid but also confident that nothing extremely bad can happen to me if i experiment around with the mushroom. Next time i'll be sure to bring a sense of humor with me and laugh at the humor that is overobviously present in the mushroom experience.

I got a little paranoid that's all. I think i just have to be a little bit more responsible and prepared next time i take in certain substances into my system. A friendly trip-sitter does not sound like a bad idea to me anymore.

About dosing mushrooms. I feel with shrooms that less is actually more. Depending on situations. Less will allow you to explore the periphical effects with just a bit more clarity. More has pushed me to extremes i never even dared to think possible. Talk about losing my marbles. Razz

I don't know how this compares to other drugs though!

Oh yeah. The summer is coming and i'm going out camping with some buddies.

I've done shrooms in urban areas. And it is actually pretty cool. Shrooms showed me the fun of outgoing people and teached me a sense of style. I do however wander off into nature reserves a lot. And those are the most peaceful moments of my life. Just me, the animals and nature. Perfect. I can't wait to retain this feeling and i can just hope or pray that this summer will bring back a lot of these feelings.

This spirit is a distinctly powerful one that will tug on your heart strings. Psilocybin is consistently a very raw and emotional experience for me. No matter what my intentions and no matter what prevention I take... the spirit always ensures that my experience reflects that which I fear. Death. It does this because it is an integral part of our relationship with Psilocybin's spirit. Until I get over my qualms surrounding death, it will force me to face it. This may be difficult, but I know deep down that it is for my own good.

This is a very important thing to take into consideration. This purpose is hardwired into the Mushroom's existence. You cannot fight it; you can only accept it.

If I am to take Mushrooms, I now eat them with the full intention of allowing it to push my boundaries.

DMT smells like math.
