I'm no expert on this stuff, but i do have a lot of experience of South America having travelled extensively there for more than 5 years. I can say that there's a lot of people talking about the country that have never visited the place, that would probably change their stance if they were to go there, learn some Spanish, and spend some time understanding the people, as well as the culture and REAL prices.

The Spanish were the first to diminish the countries Culture, but so has North America. Regarding 'Coke', it's always been the U.S who started creating the market for the stuff, although maybe now it's shifted to Mexico, Brasil and Europe.Clearly the Latin people are the underdogs, and will remain so.

Also, don't underestimate the amount of 'dinero $$$', some Gringo 'sham men' are making. One 'hillbilly Shaman' is accomodating 30+ people a day charging each a minimum of $ 100 a day, often $150+ , just to dish out a very basic service. Multiply that by 7, and you'll KNOW that Aya is the *new* big money thang. These people aren't stupid, and you won't find then arguing on the nexus either.

You'll find them laughing all the way to the bank! Big grin

Good quality Syrian rue (Peganum harmala) for an incredible price!
