Apparently a study was done where people took Kava Kava while weening off of benzodiazepines. It did significantly better then placebo at reducing withdrawal symptoms. Not sure what else there is to add here but I felt like it could help someone out so I decided to make a thread and post the reference.

It makes sense kava could reduce withdrawals from benzos, since kava interacts with the same GABA receptor sites. I'm surprised kava isn't more widely used in place of benzos, actually.
