Lately I've been having the feeling that psychedelic drugs are the only way to truly experience the full power of the human brain.

Think about this for a seconds. What else in the whole effing world can you do (not drug related) to truly experience the pure complexity/beauty of the human mind. I think that becoming knowledgeable and keeping a healthy body and brain is a great thing to do also. I know, from having religious parents, that some people just think that the mind and what it can perceive while sober is amazing and thats all there is to it and everything else isn't right to do since its a ""drug"". I think they believe this because when they think about using "drugs" psychedelic or not they associate that with damaging the brain and body which I do not believe is true if your using the right drugs/psychedelics.

What I am getting at is that alot of people in this world are so used to being in this reality that they don't even think about the fact that these substances are here to help us understand that the human mind is an amazing tool and can be pushed farther than you'd expect.

This is why I believe that whoever created us (if you believe we were created apposed to evolved) put these plants and chemicals on this earth so we could truly know the beauty of the human mind. And I feel sorry for the people who think that its not right to experiment with mind expanding substanses.

P.S. If this sounds weird or just doesn't make sense its because I used to be perscribed to adderall and decided to take a few of my left over pills and then I felt the urge to write this.

I'll re-read it tomorrow. But under the influence or not I still believe in what I just wrote.

Peace Smile

I agree with what you are saying. Psychedelics are amazing tools for exploring the power of the brain. It strips away the ego, and filter that we use every second of our lives to process the information coming to our brains.

One other way I can think of to get to a similar state is through Lucid dreaming. Your brain can do some pretty crazy shit in those dreams! Smile
What, you ask, was the beginning of it all?
And it is this...

Existence that multiplied itself
For sheer delight of being
And plunged into numberless trillions of forms
So that it might
Find
Itself
Innumerably.
-Sri Aubobindo

Saidin is a fictional character, and only exists in the collective unconscious. Therefore, we both do and do not exist. Everything is made up as we go along, and none of it is real.

SWIM works with customers at his work throughout the day. And being able at times to step back and see how people act without realizing it amazes SWIM. SWIM always thinks "what if people knew the truth about psychedelics and entheogens...just what if?" At times, it's almost as if SWIM feels a deep level of sadness for the people, but at the same time that sadness is mixed with hope and compassion. After experiencing soo many psychedelics it seems as though our minds are tuned in to a sort of "higher level" of thinking compared to the average/everyday joe. That feeling/thought pattern seems to WOW SWIM all the time.
Can't say exactly what, but psychedelics/entheogens DEFINITELY show you more extensions of the mind and how it perceives this reality and the interactions that interlace it.

As the Buddha said:

"Faring far, wandering alone, bodiless, lying in a cave, is the mind. Those who subdue it are freed from the bond of Mara." (Mara means "your spiritual death"

I agree. . . or at least that they're one of very few ways.

Not at all. No need to feel obligated to explain your thoughts, feelings, emotions, etc. to anyone that you share them with. I'm prescribed Adderall & it helps me focus more on my individuality & creativity, and less on what people think of me & my oddities.

psychedelics have made me much more aware of the concept of infinity..... i've 'sensed' that the universe is infinitely small and infinitely large in either direction....

to elaborate....... i think you could get to the same point in space by traveling at warp speed in the enterprise or shrinking down to a sub atomic level. like the universe is contained within itself. like if your microscope/telescope were powerful enough..... they would be the same thing.... just reversed perspectives

Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way, if they get upset with you for criticizing them, you will be a mile away and you will have their shoes.

I dunno about all this Smile but I always had experience of microcosm/macrocosm, infinite outward/infinite inward, blackwhiteroughsmooth, spontaneously as altered states usually waking into it in the middle of the night when I was a kid. Maybe that's part of why I'm here now... plus I found out about psychedelics from a book bought at a church jumble (rummage) sale about 25 years ago. The subject seems to have stuck!

The spontaneous mystical occurrences occur less frequently now - the last one was maybe 6 months ago and less intense than during childhood - but I can still recall the particular sensation that accompanies it. I'm led to believe psychedelic experiences are similar but different to these spontaneous mystical experiences, primarily through their variability (set/setting?) as opposed to the remarkable consistency of the spontaneous mystical experiences.

β€œThere is a way of manipulating matter and energy so as to produce what modern scientists call 'a field of force'. The field acts on the observer and puts him in a privileged position vis-à-vis the universe. From this position he has access to the realities which are ordinarily hidden from us by time and space, matter and energy. This is what we call the Great Work."
