I'm currently in my second course of calculus and learning about limits and improper integrals that result in either divergent, infinite, or convergent, finite numbers. This reminds me so much of my psychedelic experiences. The limit of x, for example as it approaches 0, nothing; in the expression 1/x. The answer to this question is infinity. We are one subjective experiencer, out of an unknowable number, x. Because not only humans are conscious but possibly other entities or living beings on other planets in other galaxies. But if we regress back in time for example, towards 0, our limits, or possible outcomes become infinite. However if you take the limit as x approaches infinity, or if you go to the end of time, we see the answer to this problem is 0. This is the paradox of consciousness. We begin as nothing, with infinite possibilities, and become infinite consciousness with 0 possible outcomes. As the eons of space-time ever expand to infinity we will reach a point where all things have occurred and all consciousness will realize the classic trip, we are all one. The mediator of nothing and everything, 1.
We are surprisingly similar.

Did you just try to use math to solve the riddle of the universe? Come on, you gotta do your research, this has already been solved. The answer is 42. Laughing Big grin Razz

I like the perspective. I think about the nature of possibilites and infinity quite often. I think of how many different times and outcomes are splintering off this current reality every microsecond. Such as if instead of finishing typing this sentence at this moment maybe me in another timeline paused to take a drink of my soda and that action rippled into a chain of events different from this current path. What would my life be like in the pause to take a drink of soda timeline. Though on the other hand I have to consider the path that I am currently on, and this reminds me of an old Asian proverb (one of my favorites).

The beginner sees infinite possiblities, the master sees only one.
"Today a young man on acid realized that all matter is merely energy condensed to a slow vibration, that we are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively, there is no such thing as death, life is only a dream, and we are the imagination of ourselves. Here’s Tom with the weather."

To the OP,

Be careful! Infinity and psychedelics are sometimes a dangerous combination!

Pretty cool idea. Ever since taking higher math, I find it nearly impossible to keep from seeing everything in the form of math. The whole universe has become functions and limits and fractals. I think this is because math is a language that does more to explain some things than any regular spoken language.

Again, I speak from experience, math and psychedelics kick ass, but it can send your brain into overdrive.
Be an adult only when necessary.
