So, I have like 800ml of basified water sitting in a jar and I have no idea how to get rid of it. The thread above was misleading, not sure if I should just dump it down the toilet or what? I was going to neutralize it but I don't wanna spend a ton on vinegar if I don't have to, thanks for any replies!

Yes, lye + water is used all the time to clear clogged drains.

Now, putting a lot of plant matter or other stuff that might be in that '800mL basified water' down the drain would be a BAD idea.

Did you powder your bark? If it mostly consisted of fibers and powder the lye should've broken down a lot of it. IF you don't flush it all in once it probably won't be a problem. However, you could always keep your solution around for 2 or 3 more months and do another warm pull. You'll definitely pull some more alkaloids from that. You'll have to do a recrystallization for sure because there will be lots of plant fats, but it's worth doing.

And then, after that you'll be right back to where you were. Needing to dispose of it. Since you are in an apartment, it is probably safe to say you don't have a septic. If it is powdered bark, the toilet is fine (the treatment facility will take care of it). Personally, I run some down the drains for the sinks and bath tub too. It helps clear out hair clogs fairly well. Just be careful if you have a garbage disposal with aluminum parts. You need to keep cool water running to flush it through. Otherwise, if you have bark pieces, just pour it through a strainer to catch the big pieces and put them in the garbage.

...if you have any pasky weeds or elm saplings around your property, you might try out your "waste" as a home remedy version of an herbicide, provided that you could ensure it wouldn't pose any dangers/threats to any local animals or children...

LOL. This works, but a little too well. Especially if you do it regularly. It certainly kills the weeds, but it kills everything else too and leaves a bare bald spot on the ground after a while. On the other hand, if you wait till it is raining and dump it while it is pouring down, it isn't so bad. Otherwise, a gravel road or a railroad track is a good place that it doesn't cause any problems. Unless someone sees you dumping it and they think you are dumping oil and decide to inform the police.

Vinegar will nuetralize the basified solution if you need to dump it into the ground. This is highly advisable if disposing the basified solution outdoors.
