In my last topic I asked the Nexus about their thoughts on my idea for a entheogenic pandeist religion. I got many great responses on why and how I should, or shouldn't, proceed. The most legitimate reason that I got to not go through with it (besides the legal struggle likely to incur) was because public perception of entheogens is rather off base here in the States.

I think this will probably be advancing at an exponential rate sometime this century. I believe in the Entheogenic Reformation. Now that marijuana is legal in two states, I think that churches with its use as a sacrament will begin to flourish.

So I have two questions

What is the Nexus currently doing as a whole to change this? I'm aware of a few things, such as the research going on in the forums, the wiki, etc.

What are individual members doing? Does anyone have a personal project for informing their personal community or anything?

many members are producing Art , Music and Literature for the entheogenic renaissance thats taking places , books are being written , comics and other articles released and various scientific processes and information is being looked into

the Nexus as a whole is pushing us into this era of rennaisance and has become a place for all this to be possible , what more are you asking for CrazySage ? a lot is already going on as you can see

You can look at the subforum dedicated to 'The Coalition For Entheogenic Liberty' if you are looking for political activism, although as far as I know, there's nothing really coming out of that.

You can look at MAPS (Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies), which is not affiliated with The Nexus, but is doing a lot of work to bring psychedelic drugs back into the world of real science.

And of course, you could always start something yourself.
This is the 21st century and you have the internet. If you feel there should be a ball rolling, often the best way to go about that is to start pushing it yourself.

We are starting a Magazine soon, I think this is a big step forward.

Also, people have been forming communities around shared ideas for a long time now. Too many just wait for others to do something so that they can join, being proven as 'a good/acceptable idea'.

You are the main actor of your life, so it's up to you to make the change. Start there, where you have the power, don't try to change the world. Change yourself and see the ripple effect of your actions

I am developing a relationship with plants through cultivation and the sharing of related material and knowledge. Through my research (university and professional) I am learning more about indigenous medicinal plants and the networks organized around plants and people in my area. And finally, I try to speak honestly with everyone who engages me on the subject of plants.

For me it's all about partnership at the moment. How can I increasingly partner with plants and people in order to offer positive creation and healing to those who need it?

Of course the Nexus has been an incredible inspiration, teacher, friend, and supporter to me, particularly over this past year.

Perhaps you are the entheogenic reformation you seek

I honestly think in the future entheogenic based 'religions' would be normal as any other church today but not in this current system. I state 'religion' because i feel they would all transcend more on the basis of community, equality based values. Religion is a nasty tag. I think the magazine does the first question pretty well, that push is what makes the latter sort of happen because it keeps the ideas alive so to speak, so they can fruit naturally when times are ready.

I don't think any major revolution would happen as things are now though. You can get yourself on a talk show but then you get attacked by 40 different stations and you can't compete in those cases. As for me i don't say much to anyone because i haven't had anything yet, but i have just said that a couple of hours of my time for a unknown experience, is something worth experiencing in healthy respected settings.
