I've been thinking more and more about my previous trips and it always seems that I'm still somehow anchored to my body because of the body buzz and physical anxiety.
So I've wondered if perhaps being in a bathtub with enough water to cover my body so that the water will make me feel more...fluid, and I won't know where the water ends and where my body begins, so that I am able to relax and let go.
Of course I would have a trusted friend who will sit by me to take the pipe and to make sure I don't slump down into the water and well...drown.

Has anyone tried this? Is it successful?

I've heard of sensory deprivation tanks but of course, I don't have access to one so a bathtub would be my best shot.

I've tried it once. Luckily for me, I am too large to drown in my bath tub if I tried...I don't fit as it is. But I was able to cover my body in water (my knees and from the shoulders up out of water). As the experience commenced, the OEV holograms that took shape in the air before me were bobbing and wavering around in quite the tranquil watery fashion. I didn't manage to get to the core of my experience because some external sound distracted me and threw the whole thing out of whack, but I then recall singing (on my back) in the tub of water on DMT, and it was just amazing. I was singing very low tones and they were just resonating with my whole body (and likewise the OEV holograms). Different notes I sang would produce different patterns. It was quite fun. Strong safety warning is obviously advised as DM Turner did die in his bathtub on [edit] ketamine.

I smoked in the bathtub once before and it was one of my most scary journeys ever, I jumped out within a minute or so. This may well have been due to the influence of my knowledge of D.M. Turner's death in the bathtub, I'm not sure. I would like to do it in water again one day but I will have a sitter with me if I do.

If you are inexperienced with spice I think you should get used to working in more conventional situations before you do something like this.

I have smoked DMT in a bathtub before but I didn't have any water going. Once I got a large hit, but enough that I was still aware of my body, I turned the water on and took a bath. It was quite amazing. The water from the faucet would be singing as the colors and patterns cascaded down the sides of the walls. I was almost like a ritual cleansing.

I would never consider doing DMT in the tub with water already in it. But then again I don't typically have a sitter when I smoke, as I do prefer to smoke alone. The times that I have done it have all been amazing experiences.

While I'm sure some deep experiences could be had doing this I would definitely recommend against you doing this for your own safety

i smoked synthetic 5-meo-dmt in the bath several years ago, with my girlfriend there as a sitter, watched her dissolve infront of my eyes. wasnt one of my most memorable journeys but it was interesting.. i read somewhere once that DMT is a water spirit, some guy went around the world smoking DMT in different places and had negative experiences in death valley where there was practically no water. and all his most profound journeys were by large sources of water like waterfalls etc.. quite an interesting theory..

oh a couple of years ago i also smoked a pipe of jungle spice and jumped in the lake at a festival! a different girlfriend was there and i also told the lifeguard what i was doing Smile and to jump in and rescue me if i looked in trouble! that was great although the shock of the cold water stopped me from letting go completely!

if i ever do it again i would wade into a shallow lake with somebody and smoke the pipe already in the water to avoud the shock! then hand them the pipe and just float i reckon it would be best that way.. somewhere with warm water Very happy

(edit) also dropped 3 tabs of strong acid several years ago and jumped in the bath total reality melt super intense journey!

and i have a fear of valiums because again several years ago id been awake for days at a festival and somebody gave me valium on way back home. i ran a bath with the intention of getting out and eating as i hadnt eaten for well over a day and promptly fell asleep in the bath for over 15 hours woke up half dead freezing cold crawled out and collapsed on the floor. oops...

thats all my bath/water related storys Big grin

That guy was DM Turner, and he's the one who ironically died in the bath tub.

I have never smoked DMT in the bath but I have taken a bath on a large dose of mushrooms. This was about 12 years ago and was a kind of strange experience, neither good or bad. All i can really remember from it the lights on the ceiling reflecting on the water and that in turn reflecting back on the ceiling in a sort of infinite loop which i got lost in until the water was too cold to sit in.

I'm not sure I could ever go into any amount of water with a dissociative like DMT. I'd love to try a sensory depravation tank one day, provided it was set up correctly and there was someone else on hand.

I have showered on LSA once. I felt as if the water droplets were a never-ending stampede of tiny boars passing over my body and penetrating my soul. The whole experience was very enjoyable.

I do this occasionally. Ive taken DMT in a bath maybe 20 times. Im not reccomending you do it..you just do w/e you feel like doing I guess.

Just please know your doses and dont try to have breakthroughs in the bathtub..I only load a very light dose and nothing more when I do this..you should know how you respond to certain doses etc before hand..to be sure that you are not going to end up overboard while in the bathtub.

I put oils in the bath and pink salts and stuff when I do this also..and I bring crystals with me and sometimes add a bit of florida water I make myself.

Im talking like I would load 15mg at the most and only hit like half of that and then sit back for a few minutes..then finish the rest 5-10 minutes later. Very very light and cautious doses.

I must say though..I have had some really cosmic times washing my hair after doing that.

I also always had my gf there or nearby when I was doing this.

PS..a bathtub does not = sensory deprivation for me..so if your looking for approximate sensory dep I dunno if a bathtub is a good method for that.

i have not done dmt in the bath though I always have a wash after a deep journey to clear myself a bit and I must say, being naked while still mildly tripping with water trickling over your hair and face is just awesome.

some day I wanna get someone to chuck a bucket of cold water over me when i come out of hyperspace Smile i always get this beautiful feel of how amazing it is to simply be alive when I come out.. maybe some cold water to the face could ramp that up a bit mwahaha

I don't think I'd want to do DMT or anything where I could pass out in the bath, but I have showered while high on mushrooms and acid and San Pedro, after the peak though. It's very nice.

I have also gone swimming in a backyard pool while peaking on very good acid. It was like swimming in jelly. Big grin I think an outdoor pond in a nice natural surrounding would be great. Someday I'd like to trip at the beach and get into the ocean.

I've also had some good acid trips while camping in massive multi day downpours of rain. Once you accept that you will simply be wet while out of the tent and just go with it, it's lovely. I had some pretty deep realizations about what it means to basically be animated bags of water, though I doubt I could put them into words well enough to do them justice. Having some dry fuzzy pile clothes to change into after getting into the tent helps a lot.

"On New Years Eve, 1996, the noted author and lay-psychedelic researcher known only by the pseudonym D.M. Turner drew a hot bath, injected himself with an unknown amount of ketamine, and settled in for the last trip of his life. When his body was found weeks later, the cause of death was determined to be natural causes. It is assumed that Mr. Turner lost consciouness at some point during the evening, slid under the water, and quietly drowned."

D.M. Turner Death

It was IM Ketamine.

But I know a Nexian wrote about losing a friend who smoked DMT next to a river.

In the province of the mind what one believes to be true, either is true or becomes true within certain limits. These limits are to be found experimentally and experientially. When so found these limits turn out to be further beliefs to be transcended. In the province of the mind there are no limits. However, in the province of the body there are definite limits not to be transcended.-J.C. Lilly

I once smoked DMT on the beach, and then after I came out of the peak I grabbed my skimboard to ride some really nice shorebreak that wrapped around this reef that formed a little point break. I fell into the wave and got swept over the barnacled rock reef and ended up with big long razor like cuts on my chest and leg..that def made me feel alive!

I pose this question for an odd reason I guess I didn't specify, while on DMT I always feel as though my body is wet. It freaks me out and ruins my trip because I can't tell if my body really is wet or not, I can't let go of my body usually when smoking. Usually I almost always have my trip ended because of it or have terrible experiences. I've broken through the veil once and only once.
It's hard because I can't trip completely naked, I have a rather harsh body image which is intensified while tripping.
I've accidentally looked in the mirror while on a trip and it scared me beyond belief but clothes pose a problem for me.
I figure if I can close my eyes while in the bathtub because I don't take large doses as it is, so I don't think I am in danger of drowning but I understand the risks, I've thought of them.
So, any suggestions about this odd sensation? It goes deeper than that but I would have to explain the whole trip for better understanding.

Does this make sense?
Thank you everyone for your replies!
It's nice to learn so much.
