Good one Mr.P! The whole picture has a nice twist to it. Rendering in the bark and roots is very tactile and believable, and a great contrast to the open airiness elsewhere. Really like your handling of the tangle of branches at the top. Nice.

Stevowitz- beautiful. The sort of hovering hexagonal cluster in the top one has a great powerful enigmatic quality. The other one suggests flight, like a rusty crusty steampunk bird bot or something. As always, very distinct and cool.
Garmonium- thanks for the referral- I have not heard of Anton, and look forward to getting really baked later tonight and diving into his gallery.

Thanks for all the great compliments everyone! spinCycle wrote:Reminds me of the flow of wind and water. Thanks! I tapped into this early on and have been strengthening it. I'm glad it's noticeable! cyb, Thanks! You may be right about the twisty tendon one. That was definitely a breakthrough for me. Since then, I have incorporated elements of it in most of my drawings. stevowitz, I have really enjoyed your art. You have such a cool style in your work. It's often mellow and somewhat subdued, but still very eye catching. I like the balance of color on the first one, and the textures of the second one. Thanks Garmonium! That's some pretty killer art work. Be an adult only when necessary.

Thanks man. I have had some computer troubles lately, most of my work is on a Mac file system but some is on a PC. Trying to get it all together to sort and resize hasn't been working lately so I've just grabbed random pieces now and then. Will be losing the Mac again for a while it seems. I have your PM with the info and will definitely be posting some stuff though. Images of broken light, Which dance before me like a million eyes, They call me on and on...

So yeah, this is my best.....maybe. Mr.Peabody,I love your tree drawing, it's alive with Qi! Of all places, I saw photograph on Ram Dass' (Dr. Richard Alpert's) Facebook page, that so reminds me of that very same, vital, flowing spiritual energy. https://www.facebook.com...0&type=1&theater There is no self to which I cling, for I am one with everything.

Supercool!! I have yet to fully capture the true power of a tree, and probably never will. It's fun to try, though! That picture reminds me of some Angel Oak trees in South Carolina. There are some that the road is wrapped around the tree and you drive under and through the branches. Very cool, here's an example. Be an adult only when necessary.

Mr.Peabody: that is a beautiful flowing landscape! I really like the way the land flows down and the trees go opposite. it's a very pleasing contrast :] And hot off my presses! *We are now at a phase of human development where we have accumulated an enormous amount of knowledge through scientific research in the material world. Stevowitz, those are great- the more you do this, the more distinctive your style becomes. Love all the layers and motion.
Mr. P, really digging the trees. This was a trickier composition than the last one- might work better with the waterfall at slightly lower contrast so the tree separates more. But I know how tricky it can be to make truly atmospheric effects with charcoal...

Yeah, I know. It didn't come out quite as well as it could have. I made a mistake in the branch area and had to erase, which left that whole area being a bit muddled. It didn't pop as much as I meant, but it also does look better in real life. I'm going to go get a bigger scanner, so my pics will look good on the internet. My cellphone camera is not cutting it! Gorgeous! I've seen that stuff too, and you really nailed it. Here's that scorpion-thing, finally. This is something that I started- basically, I sent Cyb a few Photoshop layers, mostly cosmic looking stuff, with the idea that he do whatever he wants with it. So I was totally thrown for a loop when it came back looking like an alien desert creature. So I then spent a bit of time picking away at it with a 3 pixel brush. Here's the finished version. Great stuff Guy... You sure are a wiz with that little brush... I'll put up the original quick idea so a comparison can be made by those who are interested... The original just screamed scorpion at me and, well, you did say I could do whatever...hehecyb attached the following image(s): Cyb_Guy_Collab.jpg (167kb) downloaded 404 time(s).Please do not PM tek related questions Reserve the right to change your mind at any given moment.
