I would never ever do it in a public facility. If you flip out which is likely youre gonna get the cops called on you.

Keeper's point about at least trying it sober is important- its a profound experience. My first few times I found that an hour was just barely enough, so I tried it a couple times at 90 minutes, which is amazing. Then there were a couple 3 hour sessions, one with LSD and the other shrooms... I remember how sensitized I felt upon emerging, paying (money looks so crazy under those circumstances) and thinking to myself, Thank God I know these people who own this place, or I'd sure be uncomfortable... And then emerging out into the chaotic city. That carefully balanced sense of suspended time, torn to shreds. But still a neat experience.

I'd recommend trying a few sober sessions at a float tank place, and then deciding if it's something worth investing in.

Goodness. I just read this thread for the first time since thursday and figured I should stop in and apologize for unintentionally derailing the thread. I never guessed that the joke would cause any kind of debate. There was no "dual meaning" attached to the statement. I was making a joke about the plot of a classic old psychedelic movie. The thought that my statement could have been interpreted literally is a bit bizarre to me, but not everyone has seen the movie so I guess it is what it is. Anyways, thanks to all of you who backed me up and tried to clarify my intentions. Just one more reason I love the nexus!

Bro, save it

I'd like to speak with those people, point me to them if you will

And since ego isn't the problem, go tell your parents that you smoke DMT, Then proceed to convince them how it has helped you. You can't can you? . Why? Oh yeah.. conditioning and ego.
And maybe they go on and make a joke to your hypothetical little brother about how Dmt turns kids into gorrila monkeys and you all laugh about it because its a joke, But then you try to convince your brother that nothing bad will happen with DMT, But he has this preconceived image about the gorrilla monkey joke Tied to his parents (being the respected authority) through his ego formulated emotions.. keeping him from trying it with fear.. HMMMMM?

Anyway i would really like to speak with these guys who claimed the ego is destructive
name please (if you can remember any of them anyways) thanks.
And sorry for all the commotion i didn't mean to offend anyone, but you guys more than anyone should know how difficult is it telling someone the truth when they are blinded.

And im not saying To believe me, you can decide on that, but remember YOU KNOW it is difficult telling people the truth because they just wont understand, You speak about apples, they hear pears, and talk about oranges...

You seem to be believing you're completely enlightened, and pretending you know the truth. You talk about the ego like you're living without one, yet your posts are full of that typical Messiah Complex ego inflation that is rampant among people who confuse themselves to the point where they truly think they know what's going on. Once you think you have the entire cosmos figured out, hyperspace slaps you in the face next time offering you newer possibilities and even CONTRADICTIONS of your PERSONAL truths learned in prior experiences. Don't be so sure about yourself, and how things "should be." I cannot beleive this snowballed from a goofy reference to a sub par movie made years ago about flotation devices. Chill out, man.

Anyway, if psychedelics have taught me anything, one of the most important lessons has been to lighten up a bit, and not to take things so seriously.

Peace.
“The most compelling insight of that day was that this awesome recall had been brought about by a fraction of a gram of a white solid, but that in no way whatsoever could it be argued that these memories had been contained within the white solid. Everything I had recognized came from the depths of my memory and my psyche. I understood that our entire universe is contained in the mind and the spirit. We may choose not to find access to it, we may even deny its existence, but it is indeed there inside us, and there are chemicals that can catalyze its availability.”

Bizarre indeed. No need to apologize. You can't predict or tiptoe around every black hole of humorlessness in the universe.

Yeah, I thought it was pretty funny. Lighten up! There's a lot of pranksters and goofballs on this site. Humor is social glue. The only way I have made it through life maintaining what little sanity I've been graced, especially when it comes to my entheogenic endeavors, is with a sense of humor.

As for the float tank idea, I had just been thinking about this! We should have a float tank experience thread. There's a float tank center near me, and I'm planning on giving it a try. I'll go sans entheogens first and later with entheogen. I'll have to see how the place works out, but I'll be doing either mushrooms, or mescaline as I am most familiar with these two.

The reason i get offended is because through my path in life i have gain an understanding about aliens ands entities. I search for spiritual guidance , it has shown me that earth is a tumor, it is a decease. I can't even trust my own mind at times because it is part of the tumor. .

sorry did you mean misunderstanding?

Your language and gruff actions here earned you a nice vacation from the Nexus. May this will be your wake up call in how not to treat other members.

It's sad that a thread on something as awesome as the float tanks devolved into all this.

Yeah, it's still a good thread, you just have to dodge the BS!

It is strange where it went, but then, this is the DMT Nexus. You never know where DMT might lead!

Especially in a float tank! (I added that last bit to be back on topic, like a1pla asked) Cool

You really should reconsider any ventures into altering your mind with paranoid delusions like this, I'm saying this for your own benefit.

I want to revive this thread because I plan on doing a float session soon.

I want to know what is the maximum time anyone has done? And is longer beneficial, the most I have done is an hour and I want to longer, im thinking five hours. I want to know if this is tolerable? my eventual plan is to take mushrooms and float for as long as possible, but first I'd like to test the waters. Just want to know if five hours has been done before, if its realistic in a sober state let alone a psychedelic one?

Also I am thinking of getting in the tank sitting on the edge and take some big tokes from the vapor genie, exhaling and then closing the door. I think this is doable, no?

I plan on experimenting long term with float tanks so I am interested in peoples experiences/input.
