Hello dear brothers and sisters.

I wish I could post this on the relevant topic, but as a new member I'm not allowed.

A month ago I made this enhanced leaf from N,N-DMT + Lion's tail herb using pure acetone.
However, even though I left the mixture to dry for a few days, when I smoked it still tastes strongly like acetone, and left an acetone aftertaste.

That, plus the trip itself made me very paranoid that I might be intoxicating my lungs. Even though I wished I could smoke more. It was my first time with changa.

Just now, I did a little test, and burned a bit of the leaf (not smoked) and it still had a taint of acetone smell.

I'm planning to smoke some tonight. Is it safe? I read that I should let the leaf burn a bit before toking. What other advice could you give me?

Thanks so much. <3

Good quality Syrian rue (Peganum harmala) for an incredible price!

Hi Chowder,

acetone should evap cleanly, but if the pieces of herb you used to infuse are big, maybe some traces of it are still trapped inside and are released as the material burns.

First, is your acetone pure enough? You could do a simple evap test on a glass surface and see if it leaves any residue behind.

If you are positive that the acetone is okay, you could try to break the infused leaf in pieces as small as possible and leave them dry thoroughly for a longer time. You could use a dehydrator if you have one, or an oven at a very low setting, or simply place the leaf on top of a warm surface like a radiator (or your internet router) to speed it up.

I personally would not smoke leaf that still smells like chemicals used in the making.

Don't consume anything that still smells like solvent.

Just take your CHANGA and leave it in the open air for another day or two.

Peace.

Thanks for the fast reply Vodsel,

To be honest, I didn't do the evaporation test. The bottle said 99% pure acetone, and I trused the vendor. I will do it though.

For now, I followed your advice: broke it in smaller pieces and put it over the radiator.

I'll see how this goes.

Thanks a lot!
