Hello people,

First of all, sorry if I posted it in wrong area, I'm quite new here and there's not a lot places I can post. anyways,
we [me and my wife] have problem with dreams and I do hope so that you can help me or at least direct me where should I start looking for information about what might be happening to me and my wife.
Looks like we are being attacked by some kind of Force [that's the closest word to describe what it is] while sleeping. It used to happen on very rare occasions from childhood, then about a year ago my wife was being constantly attacked by it for number of nights, for weeks in a row, then we moved, it stopped and after a year it started happening again.

I will try to describe:

Usually there's something is going on in a dream before we start feeling IT coming. it's not an object, it can't be seen in a dream, it just comes, sometimes from everywhere, sometimes from next room or around the corner, and when it comes, it squeezes you with fear and uncontrollable panic. the feeling is awful. and it is very hard to wake up as we find ourselves in sleep paralysis all the time. mind wakes up, but body is absolutely paralyzed and the only thing we found we can do is to start breathe very fast or try to make a sound and then we manage to wake up, but it still takes quite a bit to wake up. and there is a feeling that IT does not come from us, it is rather coming from Outside, wherever or whatever that may be.

It looks like it even has a character, like it happened last night:
I felt my wife trembling again and I woke her up instantly. we had a chat, she calmed down, and I hugged her and we dozed off, and I was kind of protecting her. The minute I felt asleep, not even deeply, just between dreams and reality, it attacked me. I said to it: "you are not that strong and you will not affect me, You can't harm me". boy I wish I hadn't said that. it charged at me like a mad bull with such immense force that all I could do is moan like a little girl while I managed to wake myself up. and after half hour I had to wake my girl again as she was whining again as I just did. Three attacks in an hour on both of us. serial energy vampire.

Sorry for a long letter but I feel like explaining what's going on so you could compare it with your experiences, or maybe you heard this story before. please let me know what you think, and please, write your thoughts carefully and responsibly, no bullshit, as it is quite serious situation for us.

Thanks a lot, I will be waiting for your ideas.

sounds like typical sleep paralysis. i wouldn't worry so much. it can be a frightening experience for sure, but worrying so much and getting hooked on the idea that your being attacked by some sort of psychic vampire force isn't going to help the situation: its weird enough already without those thoughts/interpretations

theres many threads on this topic. in fact there is actually ways you can learn to enjoy sleep paralysis and use it to enter lucid dreams/'astral projection' experiences

<Ringworm>hehehe, it's all fun and games till someone loses an "I"

yeah, I heard about how can you go to lucid dreams from sleep paralysis.
And I was trying to to get hooked on those crazy ideas, but man, that's just what it looks like.. Damn, I want it to go away.

It used to happen to me back in the day when I used to drink a lot of caffeinated products, and as soon as I stopped my sleep paralysis stopped as well.

Good luck
