They ran some chromatographic test on his blood plasma for concentrations of DMT and it was above average of a user of the drug even after 5 days of the experience. There are also traces of DMT in his urine and the doctor said that after 24 hours he shouldn't have any unless he used that day. The doctor deduced that his body his producing DMT somehow but he said in science it's not proven that DMT is produced by brain etc.
So, the doctors began to run test on his brain and found that the "Pons" and "limbic system" neurons are firing as if he is in a dream state or "REM".
I'm sorry to say this, but this sounds extremely unlikely for a doctor to say and even test for and I have a hard time believing this. We have had some crazy made up stories here from people longing for some attention and before you go on with this story we want some good proof that you are not making this up. On the DMT-Nexus we want reliable information and this story of yours is very odd in (too) many different aspects. Kind regards, The Traveler

I am also operating under the assumption that this is attention seeking bullshit. What your ultimate agenda would be in presenting such a fish story I can't imagine, but the world is full of weirdos and we see our share in here.
In the first place, everyone experiences extreme time dilation on DMT. This is nothing new or unique. To quantify it as 3 hours, days or years, however, is really pretty silly. Assuming you're not making the whole thing up, your friend has not somehow damaged his brain or been touched with the gift of premonition. He's simply had an experience which doesn't compute in his mind, so he's telling himself stories to try and recapture a sense of his surroundings. Or, he may have been wired for psychosis to begin with, and his experience triggered a break.
But your story about the neurologist is where it falls apart for me. You are saying that your friend goes to see this guy, tells him he can read the future after a 3 year trip into another dimension (in 15 minutes of actual time), and he rushes to run chromatographic tests on his blood and urine. I'm sorry, but I don't buy it. Then you say that after these tests come back with elevated levels of DMT, the guy runs tests on his brain. Again, I just can't imagine any of that possibly being true. What did your friend's neurologist say is the average amount of residual DMT in a user's plasma 5 days after the experience? How and why would a neurologist know this? What studies would he be basing his information on? Did he tell you or your friend that DMT is released when we dream? Because that is far from a proven fact, and nothing any doctor would say.
So, I'm sorry I say you are full of shit, but I think you are full of shit.

it seems possible, but far from probable. i will not jump to the assumption of b.s. quite yet, but i will say this is very suspicious. it could be a bizarre uncommonality.. but.. I do understand the responses calling BS, but what if this story is true? What if?
I also thought the bit about the neurologist was kind of suspicious, but then there's my story. I did end up seeing a neurologist (after having a few psychological evaluations) and had tests done, because they thought maybe it was some sort of brain damage. And I'm sure these doctors thought my story was just attention grabbing BS too, but it felt damn real to me at the time.
I don't know...maybe it is just a made up story, but then again maybe it is just a concerned friend looking for advice/help.

I wouldn't worry about it too much, your friend just smoked DMT and this is what happens when you spin the wheel of fortune. It's all fun and games until someone smokes DMT. After that you have to redefine "fun and games". This made me giddy like a schoolgirl. “Everything changes once we identify with being the witness to the story, instead of the actor in it.”
