is it possible to clean xylene effectively using soulfoods method for cleaning limonene

'a pH1 shake follwed by a 14 shake followed by 1 followed by 7, then filter over charcoal'

Good quality Syrian rue (Peganum harmala) for an incredible price!

is the reason your xylene is so dark in the pictures on your titration thread due to it being re-used so many times then?

i wash as stated in the OP - for cactus i found xylene superior to dlimo - but i feel i need to retest that potential fact. i have yet to try tolulene but heard that it smells less than xylene - i avoid xylene nowdays only because of the smell.

just a thought please correct me if im wrong...

if your salting out of xylene and not letting your ph drop below 6-7 thus salting out mostly pure mesc and very little 'non mesc cactus alks' surely over time when re used the xylene will pick up more and more of these non mescaline cactus alkaloids, eventually limiting the amount of mescaline it can hold. would it not be a good idea to do a lower ph flush of the xylene from time to time?

i say this as i just shook a ph2.5 acid solution through my nps and it came out at 3.5 and the colour of the acid solution is golden so i can tell before i even evap or reduce it that its full of a lot of 'non mesc alks'
