I would like to start a thread devoted to a specific aspect of dreaming that I frequently encounter and am sure many others do as well.

This aspect is reoccurring places and or people, or any other "fixed" aspect of dreams you encounter regularly.

I have many places that I visit in my dreams over and over they are as follows:

1. A portal to another realm, very hyperspacial and psychedelic. This portal is located in the woods under a log and down a very long ladder in a dark shaft leading and ends up in a very very different space. I can't really describe the space other than extremely psychedelic and otherworldly, very colorful also. This is not a real world place obviously and I began visiting it long before having any psychedelic experience.

2. I have a secret stash box hidden up a steep mountain trail under some brush. There is always a lot of money in this box and I frequently make the journey there to check on it. This is also not a real world place.

3. There is a store that I go to often although the inside will change from dream to dream. For example, it is usually a grocery store but it has changed into a headshop on two separate occasions. The layout remains the same but the objects in the store will change. This is a real world place that I used to visit all the time as a kid.

4. Almost every single time I dream about friends they are the same two people. These people are real and I was friends with them from about 1st or 2nd grade until 8th grade. Although it is strange because they were not my best friends and I completely lost touch with them after 8th grade, we went to the same high school but I didn't have any classes with them throughout all 4 years and never once hung around with them during high school or after.

I'm sure there are a few more that I will add when I remember but this is all I can think of off the top of my head. I am really interested in why I dream about these things and what the significance of them may be.

Please feel free to share your dreamscapes here Thumbs up

Interesting, we both share those two points. I, too, dream a lot of a supermarket, that changes the interior from dream to dream but is always reminiscent of a store I still use to buy my stuff for ~20 years.

And I, too, have these 2 frequently occurring friends from high school, to whom I lost contact in 9th grade.

The box with the money sounds cool, maybe you should try to find it in the real world? I need to find it in both worlds Smile But I drive (own?) expensive sportscars in the dream world. Cool

Best

Interesting... maybe you are one of my friends? Wouldn't that be a trip!

The supermarket doesn't surprise me as much as the others since it was a place I visited almost everyday for years buying candy as a kid Very happy But I am surprised that I don't dream more of other locations such as housed I lived in, although I have dreamt of them they don't crop up regularly.

I would love to find the box of money, but more so I would like to find that damned portal to crazy cartoon hyperspace land, it is amazing!

As a kid I had the same dream many times.

I would be standing at the top of the stairs that lead into my grandparents basement. I would then jump all the way down the stairwell, maybe 15 or 20 steps. I would always land on the last step right before the basement floor, but instead of landing on it I would pass right through it and then end up in a different realm. Once through the stairs I would be floating in a sort of energy matrix. Everything in there was an undifferentiated field of crystalline forms and tendrils and I could float or 'swim' around in it. Just by thinking I could move in any direction and I would just travel around in this field of sparkling, translucent color and light.

I don't remember ever seeing any object or form recognizable from consensus reality or any other person or being. It was very energizing and just plain fun. It's probably the only instance of lucid dreaming I have ever had (or at least remember). When I was at the top of the stairs I would actually think to myself, "Here's that dream again" right before the jump. I never felt fearful of apprehensive about it at all, in fact I looked forward to it. I can still remember the feeling of passing through the step and feeling myself enter the energetic realm as I passed first toes and feet, then legs, hips, torso and head right through the stair. Never ever landed on the floor, always on the last step just one above the basement floor and passed right through it. It was fun and exciting and I felt like I belonged there.

I must have had the same dream at least a dozen times as a kid, maybe twice that. I'd be absolutely thrilled to have that dream again. Hasn't happened since childhood.
Images of broken light,
Which dance before me like a million eyes,
They call me on and on...

I had a recurring dream as a child (and probably still as an adult though I don't remember my dreams anymore).

In the dream, I'm in the woods frantically searching for something in the leaves. There are other people trying to find it as well. I can't tell if the search is collaborative (like a search for a missing person) or competitive (like an easter-egg hunt). I find the object, but I don't remember seeing an object in the dream. It's almost as though I'm searching for something metaphysical. The dream ends shortly thereafter but, whatever it is that I am looking for, it is something of great importance. When I find it, I feel the rush of a great change and it feels like the sky is opening and something is being revealed.

It's a very short and weird dream and I remember having it dozens of times from a very early age. There are many things in my life that I could say resemble this dream simply because it is so vague and because I, like everyone, have experienced important things in my life (and what a coincidence: some of them happened in the woods).
Every day I am thankful that I was introduced to psychedelic drugs.

Surely I experience the same thing. I remember many different dreamscapes, each of which I have
visited numerous times during different dreams throughout my childhood. The strangest thing is,
that after more than 10 years, I still remember them so crystal clear in such maddening detail.
I remember these scenes much clearer than I remember any waking life moment from 10 years ago.

Then I also find that these various dreamscapes sometimes overlap, allowing access from 1 dream-
scape to the other. Some of the most memorable & recurring scenes are:

-A huge indoor&outdoor swimmingpool complex with alot of mad slides.
-A large, forrest-rich amusementpark/festival terrain with tents & rollercoasters.
-A mysterious bycicle-path through an overgrown backally, lit by cozy streetlights, where garden-gates/doors of houses meet.
-A forrest on a waving hill-like terrain. Nighttime, yet illuminated. Many children playing everywhere. Playgrounds.
-A sunny, extatic landscape of tall, beige grass with purple flowerculsters(lavender-ish). Foggy morning-mist, Ultimate tranquility, camping sites with families. Bicycle-paths leading through plains into forrests & to...
-Bordingschool/Orphanage in the woods. Skelters, toys, playgrounds, children & a matron.
-A complex, larger version of my elementary school, with a huge stairwell, lots of posters, huge auditorium..etc

I could go on for quite a while. The detail is amazing. No waking memories are THAT clear & detailed. And those dreams were from 10+ years ago. Just thinking about these memories kickstarts 1 memory after the other to come back to me. I've long felt that I should map these dreamscapes. Perhaps I should get to it.

This is why I also have taken up more interrest in Hypnosis, specifically intended to "retrieve" blocked memories.
If Hypnosis could be used to retrieve more details & memories from dreams & spice-journeys, that would be most exciting. But I know very little about the practical side of Hypnosis. Anyone?

I have dreams of this big supermarket. It makes me feel really good thinking about my dreamscapes. They feel like home. I have a lot of bizzare and beautiful dreamscapes. I also have a gigantic mall that is literally several stories tall. This mall is HUGE. I have another one from when I was very young. It is an amusement park with red rollercoasters and everything out in the middle of the sanddunes you see in egypt and stuff. Very bizzare like I said but beautiful and full of love. I also have dreams of me walking thru an old apartment complex a lot. Or swimming in an ocean with small islands close by and VERY strange and creepy creatures and fish in the ocean. I have one where I was being chased by a gigantic krakken octopus thing and we climbed the top of this lighthouse tower thing and escaped it. Too many to count. I dream of places that are purely amazing as I'm sure you all do to. And when I think intensely on a couple dreams more start flooding my thoughts and I realize theres a connection.
