Hi.
I live in Far North Queensland Australia, literally in a house cut into the rainforest. I usually dont post questions because they are usually already answered, but I`m getting a real headache here from cross referencing and looking, its been weeks now. I thought that the sensitive weed, which is prolific here, was Mimosa Hostilis from a picture I saw and performed my first extraction after months of research. I thought everything went well except no DMT so a quick search told me that I used the wrong plant. I though that finding a DMT plant here would be the least of my worries but that was two weeks ago now. Where I live in Oz, the wet tropics, it consists of only %.03 of the country, therefore I cant find any info on what plants to look out for here. All the info on plants in Australia is on the Acacia and from what I can tell it doesnt grow here, it prefers the dry terrain. The annoying thing is that this is probably the part of Australia thats most abundant in DMT, but the best I can do is find info on Amazonian jungle vines. I dont know if they grow here, there is vines growing everywhere but I just dont have the knowledge to know which ones to use. Any help would be much appreciated as Iv sampled DMT recently and really want to explore it some more.
Thanks in advance!

Dude, there are people your way growing Ayahuasca vine and Chackruna!

You might want to have a look at Acacia Mangium, I have heard some people are getting DMT out of it. Yours is a beginners mistake, to assume DMT actually is everywhere, when actually, find a good source in any part of the world can take a long time!

..hi shanemacbike..

there are good options in your region..you don't need introduced species..
from the acacia info thread p.25:
Quote:
Acacia armillata is restricted to three locations in N.E. Qld./Cape York, it was found to contain 0.4% alkaloids (not sure plant part) roughly 1:1 DMT:NMT..needs conservation..
Acacia johannis (restricted to N.E. Qld, where it is more common) – also DMT/NMT, c.0.4%, similar ratio to armillata.
..a third Cape York species was found to contain 0.5% DMT, but this is only found at 1 location, and i think is too rare to list..

you've just alerted me to this omission in that thread's index..have added..

Thanks for the info on the acacia mate, but the nearest one still seems about 2 hours away and I`m sure it would be tricky to stealthily strip some bark. Ill attach a couple of pics of my garden, just from researching on google I`m wondering would would there be any of the Psychotria family with DMT nearby. This place is dense with growth, I`m sur there is DMT in my garden Wut?

..no need to harm bark! most acacias have leaf/twig action..i was more suggesting the patience of growing as these acacias aren't common..
the jungles of north queensland are very unexplored in this regard..
chocobeastie could be onto it for any immediate interest you may have..Smile

Cheers, growing is not really an option for me as I am not from here, other wise I`d have it all growng lol. Im a travelling man and plan to spend one more year here and going to Brazil for the real ayahuasca experience with a shaman next year. Maybe I`ll just keep researching and keep exploring. Get a few samples, do a few extractions. I might get lucky. How would one test the alkaloid after extraction? Or is it necessary? Is there many alkaloids in these plants that are physically harmful when vapourized? 5 OH DMT comes to mind for some reason as an unwanted alkaloid.

I live in the FNQ jungle as well...

Just grow your own. Chacruna varieties grow very well, as well as acacia confusa, floribunda, simplex and maidienni. Even mimosa hostilis grows well enough if you are into that sort of thing.

I've tested a lot of local plants and not found any that are valuable.

Words keep flowing out like endless rain into a paper cup they slither lightly as they make their way across the universe....Pools of sorrow waves of joy keep drifting through my open mind inciting and inviting me....limitless undying love that shines aro
