Perception = reality

About a month back I had a very cool experience while tripping on four hits of LSD. While I posted this in another topic I didn't actually hear any feedback from anyone in regards to it. So I decided it was worthy of making a thread about the concept to see what everyone's personal thoughts/experiences on this concept may be.

Below is an edited version of the post:

This trip of mine was a rather intense one, but of course, that's how I had wanted it! Personally when I'm on such a drug I tend to think of the higher dimensions and how they relate to our everyday experiences. I'm sure many of you have researched the fourth dimension, so I want to briefly describe a concept and see what you all think.

Usually to explain such concepts the idea of flat land is used. In which you have a hypothetical creature that exists on a two dimensional plane. Based on this existence we can make conclusions about what their perception would be like; and what a three dimensional creature passing through its world would appear to them as. For example my finger passing through flat land would appear to a flat lander as suddenly popping into existence as a point, grow to some certain length, and then suddenly disappearing again.

Now what I like to do is imagine three dimensional space being made up of an infinite amount of these two dimensional planes. We can also apply this same concept to the fourth dimension, which we attribute to time. Its sort of like in math when they say you can divide a line up an infinite amount of times, well since we only perceive the concept of time in a linear fashion then we can imagine that the moment 5 minutes ago, and the moment now could be divided up, or even be a collection of an infinite amount of three dimensional spaces. Its a very strange concept to think about but the idea is that to a higher dimensional creature, we would appear very strange. Since we only see these 'slices' of time moment from moment, we don't see the whole picture. To some higher dimensional creature we would (according to this concept) appear as a long slug like creature, with our born self on one end and our deceased self on the other.

Now to get to my main point of what I wanted to actually talk about. While I was tripping with a good friend of mine and listening to some pink floyd she mentioned high school. I paused and thought about that concept for a moment. Now during this trip I had been experiencing an expansion of my consciousness. What I mean by that is that it was as though my thoughts were not longer confined to my skull, I remember thinking "why limit your thoughts to inside your head?" and then laughing at the thought. I felt that I was out in the air, mixing and interacting with the music and reality. As though my spirit was expanding, which is a really great experience and EXTREMELY similar to my DMT experiences except not as strong. Now when I thought about high school I couldn't help but visualize my level of awareness during that time, and with the feeling of expansion I was feeling at that moment it caused me to draw some really interesting conclusions.

You see I think that the idea of some advanced being looking down on us from a higher dimensional plane and seeing only these slug like creatures as a sort of ugly concept. I would like to think, and indeed I feel, that that concept is not the entire picture. When she mentioned our younger selves I couldn't help but feel that I had grown in leaps and bounds compared to then. That my conciseness was a million times stronger, more aware, and just much more "out there" than it had been before. Like trying to compare the tip of a needle to the size of a balloon. So I thought, what if the slug concept isn't completely right? What if we aren't taking into account the entirety of the picture? What if instead of being some ugly newborn/dead slug we are a beautiful flower. When we grow and learn our conciseness grows and expands and is visible in that sense, and instead our thoughts and feelings define us more than our physical bodies. After all thoughts and feelings are energy too, and if all matter in this "reality" is just energy in slower vibrational state, then why shouldn't such things play a key role?

To me this makes much more sense than the other way of thinking, but not so much in a scientific mind state, but on a deeper more personal and intimate level. Which is in my opinion, how all matters of the spirit/conciseness should be addressed. After all, science can only address the physical, it has no room in the word next door Pleased

I'm looking forward to hearing your thoughts on this idea! Drool

I've seen the slug of time Wink idea described before and I think it's just one of those things that is really compromised by trying to describe it in terms of our 3 + time dimensional space. What you say makes sense too, that we would be seen from a higher dimension as a process and not as an object.

I wonder if 7th dimensional beings have trouble putting their thoughts about 8th dimension into form, and what sort of analogies they resort to. Confused Shocked Big grin
Images of broken light,
Which dance before me like a million eyes,
They call me on and on...

I think it may be erroneous to drag time into the matter in the first place. I think it's fully possible to have additional spacial dimensions without resorting to time as a dimension. I think there are dimensions of time, but I think these temporal dimensions are distinct from their spatial counterparts. For example the zero dimension for time would be a point - an instant - in time. 2D time would be linear time - time as a line - the way we tend to perceive time. 3D time could be time as a sphere for example and 4D with time as a hypersphere, and so on up, growing closer towards time's infinite nature each time.
