not working out, too much gas escaping for me to be confortable. goiing to try again a a few weeks with a vacuum. I plan to set up for a reflux once i get one. I have yet to get o response on my alternative setup. I think the other setup postes in the pis would work better, especially with a vacuum.

hmm...

some guy's macac tried vacuum distilling varsol used in the extraction, he has about 250mL of it (extraction from 250g bark). he first tried freeze precip, and got few crystals.
after running at 24.5inHg for about 40min (100-110C), none of the varsol distilled over...but he did get some sort of clear waxy crystalline material in his collection flask
who knows


perhaps he should freeze the varsol again, and try fishing it out with dcm.

after vacuum distilling some varsol, the macac found that about 15 - 20% of the original volume distilled over with the distinct smell of toluene. freeze precip after a couple of days showed no signs of dmt crashing out
