Hello nexus, let me tell you a little backstory before i get straight to my question.

I recently stopped cold turkey taking my ssri medication (citalopram, 20mg) and i am feeling HORRIBLE. these withdrawal symptoms are horrible. I feel very lightheaded all the time, feel like im about to pass out, i get these random feelings in my brain where its like i get shocked, or i black out, and everything becomes very woozy and i feel as if im about to pass out. it's horrible.

So, i have 35 grams of Cubensis (Very happy ) but i have heard different things about ssri's and mushrooms, and i wanted to get current opinion on this (as well as corpus'!)

I do not want to stop taking my ssri's I have noticed a decrease in libido since i have stopped taking these, and taking them makes me feel overall better. (and i will not have these symptoms)

While I have heard that the effects of DMT diminish with the use of ssri's (need more to blast off) i have heard many different things about mushrooms.

I have heard that in some people it has not affected their mushroom trip at all, i have heard that some people do NOT have a trip or feel ANY effects at all of the mushrooms while on ssris, some people say you need more to get farther, and some say it diminishes the *magic* of magic mushrooms.

SO, basically, what are the effects of ssris and mushrooms combined? i want to hear more peoples opinions and personal experiences.

Much love.

having no knowledge whatsoever i would steer clear simply because you are having negative effects without any mushrooms.

so they might help or they might make it worse.

i personally wouldn't take the risk until someone more knowledgeable posts.

I can only speak as a layman, but...I was on Celexa and took mushrooms years ago. I had a strong trip, became an old farmer with lovely harvest songs, everything was fine except for fairly normal things like losing control of my bladder when I felt like I was floating in liquid, and I got nasty leg cramps on the come down (mind I had walked a good 15-20 miles in the mountains after a shift in the kitchen). Was fine the next day, a cook I worked with at the time who also took some of the harvest and was on more and heavier meds reported he had a fine time as well at work the next day.
Can't speak with authority, but once you are stable with or without your meds again, I don't see too much harm in trying it out. Maybe start low, before diving in. However, I'd wait a month to get started, let your brain get back to normal first.

I was on and off of SSRIs when I was younger and have used tryptamines to alleviate the discontinuation syndrome fairly successfully. Time being, of course, the other operant doctor, causality is a little hard to assign, but I know that high doses (five or more grams being a good place to start) can/have alleviate(d) symptoms of restlessness and brain-zaps for at least a week after administration.

I've found reports of others' success with this method as well.
Here's one I recently found:

http://www.paxilprogress...s/showthread.php?t=55330

(typtamines being moderately interchangeable; this report is with 4-aco-det i believe. While some tryptamines seem to have a stronger 'ant-ssri-withdrawal' property, the effect seems to be dosage dependent and substantially potentiated by co-administration of Harmaloids and some aryclyclohexylamines. My mental jury is still out on the matter, but MDxx compounds might be of use for this purpose as well; explorations thereof as an admixture to the abovementioned particularly (harmaloids probably being excepted, of course)

Please do not quit taking Citalopram without consulting your physician or without tapering down slowly over a period of time. Your brain is getting a massive shock if you suddenly quit taking them.

I strongly urge you to start taking your medication until you've come up with a plan to slowly taper off. This will allow your brain to slowly adapt to the new chemical balances in your brain without frying the ongoing processes. Tapering down can be down over a period of two or three months.
